i haven't tried either. neville's is the ORIGINAL haze, at least in the seed market, and around the late 90s, it was selling for around $280 and at least used to be potent, but i haven't seen too many people actually reporting on it. golden tiger SHOULD be decent. that, and mandala's satori are one grower's top 2 sativas. a little more on the productive end of things, TGA subcool's jack the ripper & sannie's killing fields are reported to be very trippy and TGA Subcool's jack's cleaner 2 is my favorite trippy strain, though it has some body stone to it, with euphoria and it has a really cool touchy feely effect that makes it stand out.
HQS haze x skunk is very potent with some trippiness, but is more about euphoria and motivation. even after a month, it doesn't get stony like even columbian gold could. for such a potent long lasting strain, it doesn't expand much like some. it did have some paranoia, and most noticable, if you took too many big hits, it started getting a little dizzying like gold would. for $30, it's a bargain. it's buds weren't popcorn sized and the skunk #1 made it pretty resinous
i'm still testing holy smokes' malawi gold, but there's an aussie grower doing it outdoors too. that's a pretty fast pure sativa. whether or not it, or ace's version lives up to the trippy claims remains to be seen.
delta 9 labs' mekong haze is 2x cambodian and supposed to be VERY trippy. i and another grower couldn't get it's tiny beans to pop, but in my case, i think the cold room that was slowing other gear down too might have caused it as i've seen much better results with a heating mat and humidity dome since.
along with golden tiger, that grower really likes mandala satori too. i've only had 8 miles high and loved that myself though it's not the trippiest.
another grower swears by his ace panama seeds and is always trying to get me to try it. maybe, some day.
that's the best info i can share on growing pure sativas. a lot of "hazes" are pretty watered down these days and not trippy. so far, for fruity hazes, DNA sweet haze is the best i've tried but JC2 is still the most trippy i've tried. jack the ripper should be even more old school.
neville's haze SHOULD be trippy if it hasn't gone downhill. the reports i heard on arjan's hazes were that they were overrated. a little off the beaten path, dr atomic's metal haze should be good if cannabible can be trusted. the author really likes his NL5 haze. most of the banks that sell the gear are sketchy though. i've always had good dealing with hemp depot though with joey weed gear.
trippy is kind of an elusive trait to lock down as not many are growing for it AND reporting & comparing. for the purest sativas, ace, gage green, world of seeds, holy smokes and cannabiogen get the most word of mouth i've seen. my HS malawi was very promising before it got burned and i have some WoS 25% NL5 columbian i want to test, but ace and gage green have supposedly pure columbians.
i hope someone whose grown either strain you're interested in can shed more light on this for you.
2 things you should look into, especially with real sativas is SCROGging and using halides as DJ shorts recommends as would DR atomic as his metal haze is named after halides. sativas like full spectrum light best.
hope you grow something awesome and can report back on it as i'm working my way up to landrace gear at least for hybrid breeding.
if you knew where to get a cutting, the JYD haze dinafem uses for their super critical haze as well as another breeder should be very trippy. that's unobtanium though for most of us.
the thai ace uses is a meao thai. sativa seeds uses a legit highland thai that IS trippy and even better, tutti fruity flavored (the source of blueberry's flavor) but it is a fussy bitch to grow! it won't even show it's sex until it's in 2 gallons and taking it's time, and even then, like the IBL, it can turn hermie. when i think thai, i think highland. meao is a more minty and spicy thai i think, or at least not tutti fruity.
