I agree, but stock piling stuff is only a temporary solution, eventually these things will run out.
I'm thinking more long term, and about how I want the world to be for my children and their children.
Grow/rear your own food, then you'll have a replenishing supply. Grow tree's in your garden, wood is good for burning AND building usefull things. Learn to blacksmith, or cobble, or blow glass, or heal or whatever usefull thing you ARE GOOD AT, and swap with your friends and neighbours (everyone is good at different things).
In simpler times, before the industrial revolution, there was no class system, there were the peasantry and nobility, and it was possible to change if you had the necissary attributes.
Industry has created this SLAVERY we live in today, it has put the power in the hands of the faceless, and we eat it up by continuing to consume, we hand over our 'money' by choice and then complain about it.
I think the first step is for eveyone to stop watching TV, completely. Stop letting them program your brain with advertising.
I haven't watched a TV in over 4 months now, I don't miss it at all. It makes you wander what else you can live without.....
