Good bulb? Brands etc

Is digimax considered garbage? There 1000w digital hps is around 50$ curious of good brands of 1000w metal halide and a good hps bulb. Usually you get what you pay for looking for opinions on good growth from what brands please and thank you

I use SYLVANIA GROLUX HPS lamps and POWERPLANT SUPERVEG MH lamps.

Great lamps IMO for my Lumatek 400w dimmable.

I use Ushio Hilux Gro bulbs. Great bulbs, German made, lots of good light. Unless you buy garbage bulbs, you should be ok.

Curious if I should always buy top dollar or if there's a good light for good price

I've used various lamps and always go back to hortilux super hps. Pricey yes, dependable and functional , def yes.

bulbs and batteries confuse me, quality wise. i saw one of those expose shows talking about batteries, and they tested them and found very little difference in battery life/quality. there was a huge difference in prices though, of course. i figure there is a lot of mark-up with bulbs also, and quality is prob. equal to or better than the, "big name," bulbs. hell, aren't almost all of them made in china anyways??? prob. just a matter of the name they stamp on the bulb/packaging, lol...

China doesn't have the market on everything but give them time I suppose.
The Hortilux MH Blue I just looked at the box, made in Japan. I thought they were manufactured in Ohio , maybe just the Blues are made in Japan, I'll go grab a super hps and see what it says.

Yeah the Hortilux super hps is made in USA. Grabbed a shitty sunpulse while I was up at the lamp collection and they seem to be a product of china.
