I am looking to buy a camera to take pics of my plants and I was wondering what some of the people of RIU use?

<--- Using a Canon T2i. I absolutely fucking love the thing. =D Cost me about $950 to walk out the door of bestbuy with that and a 8gb class 10 SD card =P. You can get it for a shit ton cheaper online, i just had a bunch of cash and very little paitence so i just didnt bother to worry about the extra cost.

Since then ive gotten a 50mm 1.8 lens and a rode video mic, but thats mainly for shooting video. So now im probably around $1200-1300 deep about now. 0_o

Honestly if you want amazing pictures your gonna have to go DSLR forsure. Id say look into the older model Canon XSI or T1i's or even the nikon D40. All great entry level cameras that will take amazing pictures.

Just a warning though, Its gonna get expensive. :leaf:

I was halfmindedly looking at macro lenses for a cannon DSLR.... anyone have suggestions or personal experience with such things?

Sorry but still working on getting the t1....gonna probably go ebay since they come with so many lenses ad macro is one...I also want to get the led lighting adapter like Subcool uses which mounts around the lens preventing shadowing by the camera body and lens...is why his pics are so awesome....read a thread where he explains his method and equipment used....but my stoned ass cant remember the name of the thread....lmfao
