That really sucks Gogrow. I'm sorry for your troubles.

Really, if a person keeps their record clean, why shouldn't certain crimes be allowed to expire off their record. It's sad that something a person does when they're 21 for instance has to follow them around forever.

My son has the same problem, his big crime was possession of a marijuana pipe. He was only 21, now the cops have a "free search and destroy" card because if it. He can't find a job that pays above minimum wage because of it, and no amount of schooling will change things for him either.

pull a george castanza and have a buddy answer his phone as a business that you have worked at for the last three years. "Best employee I've had---but the economy is really putting a strain on our orders----etc." You'll be in like Flint---so to speak :)

That still doesn't erase a criminal charge on a background check.
"That girlfriend he used to be stuck with---I believe her name was misshestermoffitt or something like that---just kept getting him in trouble---I tell you that guy is loyal though---willing to take one for the team---when he got away from her---his life really came together :) "

whats worse about that?? neither one of us has a means of income; seems pretty even.... go work for their competitor.... im about to start the process over... 20+interviews ending with "if you can do something with that felony...":cuss:
i didn't mean it like that but... OK. I meant sale's job's are hard to find, nothing is selling, unless people need it. All sale's places I've called are on hiring freezes (even none sales places). I'm even a Realtor, and I can't keep busy doing that (nothing is selling). most other places make u pass piss tests.. so its either i stop smoking pot for a month or rely on a drink (which might not even work). I'm sure there is a lot of us that are in this same position.

so a good friend of mine... his parents work in high corporate world, say that i have a clear cut case for wrongful termination b/c they knew when i applied, and had the background check on my first day... they knew i was a felon, hired me as a temp employee, then hired me as a full time employee after christmas; and then fired me for being a felon... got my hopes up of "stickin it to the man" now:-P..... gonna call some lawyers tomorrow:hump:

not simple possession... more like simple burglary... so its a "real" felony... but its still something stupid
If you were honest about it, check with your EEOC office> I suspect if you did tell them, and can prove that the BC was in their hands for thay long, you should have a nice discrimination case.. You cannot be terminated for being a felon, only for not telling them.If that was the case...D.C. would be empty!!

Hell yeah dude...they've learned a lot of shit about all sorts of ridiculous legal issues (they should've been lawyers IMO) but I'm gonna talk with them more about it and see exactly what kind of angle you got to work with. But yeah - definitely call some lawyers and at least see what some of them think
