90% of growing great herb is genetics IMO. If you have ever grown and managed a decent backyard garden, you can grow cannabis. Just a little learning curve. Indoor growing however has a bit more learning curve.

Like anything it does need to be learned however and the biggest thing to learn is how to deal with the issues as they arise.

Grow from seed if you really want to learn and don't take this guys advice ^
Bhahahahaha. That made me lol. Keeping plants alive and growing medical grade cannabis are two very different skill sets and proficiencies. It is not hard to grow something that will get you high it takes years to perfect ones technique and maximize quality and quantity. This last part is really the important part and from what I have seen it can only be gained through experience. So as far as which strains to grow, I try and grow as many as I can to experience the widest selection of genetics possible. I also run everything at least twice before taking it put of the rotation.

When you grow indoor you have to have some sort of skill you cant just drop the seed and leave like growing outdoors. You have training to do on the plant because some plants will stretch and grow too big and you have to use techniques like LST, topping and super cropping.
true, but even indoors i find cannabis a willing subject.

I know right. I wish it was that easy. Bugs, wind, heavy rain, animals, rippers, helicopters, etc...
Even an outdoor grow in your own back yard can take month of planning and prep. A fair share of sleepless nights usually comes with it too. Especially come close to harvest time. A lot more people say screw this and go back to indoor than the other way around.

Philo all those choices seemed good, and I wouldn't worry too much about what you end up choosing. One of the components to being a good grower is that you can diagnosis problems that occur on the fly during the grow, and then choosing an appropriate remedy(Which you can really test yourself with if you grow a ton of different strains at once) If you run the same strain over and over, you will learn how to avoid these pitfalls and start to see the warning signs in the future.

Don't stress on the strain name too much.... either run it over and over in the case you like it and want to tune it in, or keep popping new ones and expanding your skills that way. I think growin from seed requires more of an overall skillset (Since it's fairly easy to fuck up the more steps you add to anything), and helps you to learn about what to look for in your different plants as they grow out. Growing from clone is great for dialing in those strains you really want to master ;)
