Hey folk's, who'd like more light for a one off payment of peanuts?

A while back I made a reflector with mylar and some 2" pipe.
It's on easi now so I can raise or lower it when needed its always used.

It increases the light intensity immediately on the inside, from this

To this, with the mylar hanging down inline with the light.

The center area hotspot increased by 6/7% but I can't remember if that was just with the reflector or after id added more mylar, i was so shocked at the results I added more afterwards either way it's a big difference.

Total cost £10 it really is an upgrade in itself i think that's 40% around the edges fading to 6/7% in the middle for peanuts.
Aye bud it definitely makes a big difference having decent reflected light in the room

Hey Conor, years back I cut and painted a TV box flat white to section of a corner of my tent for early vegging, I could easily see it made a difference but I didn't have anything to measure it with.
Ffwd some years I watched this video and it reminded me of my cardboard reflector lol so I made another (new improved model, the frickin police stole my last one)

Tbh bud I didn't expect such a difference I thought maybe 3/4/5% increase so I was happy with the end results, if you look at both pics you can see one is clearly lit lower down and further back into the pots/canopy.

Cheers bud

Hey bud, they're in coco and perlite 50/50 mix, I'm sure the ec needs are down to the light intensity/environment there's 650w-60/65k lux over the 4x4 canopy @10/15" ime the ec is relative to light intensity, more light needs more ec.

That said not normally that high tbh, I wanted to increase the ec sufficiently so any changes in the sick plants would be clear to see (they're being fed separately)

I'm not big on high ec feeds for the sake of it I'm happy using 1.2/1.3ec for flowering if I can.

I got the some yellowing plants in my last crop using 1.8ec but I didn't think it could be nutrient related with 1.8ec, this time when yellowing happened again I still thought the same but I had to try something so raising the ec was my 1st step.

Cheers bud
I gotta say, I learn alot paying attention to your grows. You are very careful with your experimentation. The hours of light vs intensity, this EC test. You don't just hypothesize. You theorize and test. Respect!

These are s1s that have been reversed with sts. Do you have a clone that you’re thinking about reversing?
Yes, I've a few plants I'd like to try reversing on a small scale i only need ±20 seeds from each of them.

I've got a 2x2/3x3 spare I can use, or maybe I can treat a few buds on each plant of my main crop?

Another option is I've some top shelf cheese in regular it had crossed my mind to use pollen from a male to pollinate my exo, apparently exo is difficult to s1 so straight pollination might be an option?

I learn alot watching your grows too! Shit yall are some master growers. I'm glad Annie made the introduction. Its a pleasure to watch yall work.
I'm glad you're getting something from my grow. I consider myself a journeyman, still lots for me to learn and I make lots of mistakes. Just coming up on my sixth year anniversary for growing.

You make your own sts or did you buy some ready made bro outta curiousity ?

Might be hard to get only a small part of the plant to reverse. Two of mine are full reversals, no female flowers. One is a partial so it's still putting out lots of female flowers. Kinda seems hit and miss.

If you do the cheese. we have a Cheese community journal going. We'd love to see you there.

Hey Conor, it's only silver nitrate and sodium thiosulfate I need to mix it up myself.

In hindsight it might have been better to buy something ready to use, mixing it requires tiny amounts I doubt my scales are accurate enough to measure 2/10ths of a gram I've doubt before I've made a move.

I think that's better IMO. I bought the kit that you're supposed to make a huge amount of concentrate. Didn't make a lot of sense so I just make 250ml and have lots left for more reversals.

The next time I grow exo I'll share it in the community journal, I don't have much in the way of continuity with photos it's mostly group photos i have with this crop.

Fair doos aye you need semi decent milligram scales i would think

I know around here, you can get hundredth of a gram scales for $20 or so. I've still got a set from when I uh,ummm weighed other things.

I ordered a new set of scales earlier so I can measure the ingredients with a bit more accuracy.

If it's not practical to treat a few buds I've another approach using t5s
View attachment 5414588
With a bit training and t5s that'd be sweet.
That's the same scale I use to measure my ingredients for STS solution. This is the recipe I use to make it:
