Got an idea for a PC experiment Grow

Hey guys. I'm obviously new to the site. I had an idea for a grow in an old short PC Tower i had sitting around. I was only thinking of growing 1 plant for the trial run.
So, I have plans and know where what is going where, but My question is this: the specifics?

I know what bulbs I need, I know fans, wires, potting soil, or even if I'm going to use soil. Just asking the growing elders what their opinion is on materials. What type of bulb has always worked for you? Fan favoritism? Your only so secret growing technique?

I personally feel that's not gonna be enough space to grow in, I made a 6' wide x 40" deep x 3'6" tall box and put it in the crawlspace, ended up moving my plants to 7' wide x 40" deep x 7" tall storage room and it still is cramped, I got 5 plants going, seeing as it's a 50/50 draw of getting girls I wanted to have a good chance of getting just one to clone from and dump any males. But good luck on your build.

Yeah you're probably right. Everyone i've spoken with thinks the same. I think I'm going to try it, and if all else fails i can turn it into a station for clones or something.

That's to small. After the pot and light your looking at 8" plant. You'll smoke that in a day. Not worth the money to grow for 10 weeks or more.

Well I have stuff just laying around and a buddy who i can get seeds from so...money is not really a stresser heh

I know that its a disaster waiting to happen, but i want to give it a go. The general curiosity of the ideas i have in my head makes me want to try. That and i have a secondary tower thats much bigger that i am going to convert so if the little one is too small i can always transfer. And like i said earlier if all else fails i can use it for clones.

Okay Folk's. So I've done some research and debating with myself. I have had MANY people tell me this grow box is not going to work. I have doubted it as well. But I still need to try. Einstein said it best "You never fail until you stop trying." So what I plan to do is finish the build and try the grow. If the plant dies, it dies. I'm saving money on Seeds by getting them from a friend.

Before I get post's telling me to not try, or giving me advice, I'll tell you guys what my plans are so you can accurately give advice or constructive criticism.

The Box stands 14 inches tall and 14 inches long. I have a way to set up a bulb box on the top of the box. If that doesn't work, or fit in this matter, I have a method to puting in lights that it will still work. I will be growing just One plant, but I plan to use a 8-10 inch long potter. I will attempt an LST method that I've seen around. The seed's my friend said he can get for me will be Pineapple Kush. Upon research of P.K. I have learned that the plant naturally grows short, so that will work to my advantage. I have also attached pictures of the case gutted, and stripped of extra parts, and then temporarily re-assembled. Just a slight mock up. I have another case (20x20x10) in storage I plan to get and build for a backup. One way or another, I will have a PC grow box and it will work come hell or high water.

Box cleared of wires, and extra housing. There is still a bit of a ridge on the back side that I plan to use to my advantage.

The "door". I plan to put hinges on part of it, if not it works easily as a slide on slide off method. But i doubt that will work as much when i add the reflective bits.

The front of the case. With the exception of a big gaping hole where a memory carder reader once sat it looks like a normal computer from the front.

I'm highly optomistic about this grow. I know what I'm doing this is just my first incognito grow.

Okay so it's been a couple of weeks. I've done some fabricating, redesigning and so forth. And i think, that i might be able to pull off a Mini in there. So far the way everything is set up, i have 3 lights that are connected to a surge protector through socket plugs. They will be CFL's all combined they will be 3,500 lumens, as the process goes i will add and switch lights and such. I have a dual intake made from an old Xbox 360 twin fan set. I will also have a 2 inch Exhaust fan until the 3 inch arrives. (friend is coming into town late September with a computer he is going to let me dismantle.

From the above picture you can see the fans, lights and coverings. Since this picture was taken (9/5/12) I have re covered the reflective surfaces. It is now smooth and purdy. The cord you see jutting through the picture is from the surge. The picture was taken under my desk(where it will be housed when i get the proper ventilation back there set up)

I was surprised when I got everything put together how much room I actually had.

Last Friday i had to make a hard decision that i eventually made. Friday was my birthday and i had to decide whether i wanted to buy something for myself, or for the grow box.......I ended up getting something for myself lol. Pay day is coming up, I plan to pick up a Thermo so i can run tests and get everything ready.

My question to anyone who's actually paying attention, What would you suggest? Also I know eventually i will need to add a speed control for the fans. Anybody know of a cheap efficient way to do so?

looks nice bro, no suggestions though. what type of container are you going to use in there?

I'm still working on that. I've got some time. This weekend I was planning on doing some concept shopping. I saw some planters at Home Depot a few days ago when i was there for work. 12x6 troff(sp?) it would be a perfect fit. Would give me an inch on the ends and fit nice and snug with the width. I don't know tho. When I do start getting Idea's I will be posting.

Id use Jiffy pellets to start, do you have any access to clones? I use super soil in my PC case.

No i don't have access to Clones. It'll be a Seed grow. I have a buddy who can get me some so i'm going with that.

Well, you might as well get some good genetics. Attitude has freebies and promotions every month the blue dream would be a nice pc grow if you can keep it down, haha.

What about nutrients/fertilizers?

I'm going to figure that out after I get the seed(s). I was also thinking of Pineapple Kush. It usually doesn't grow to tall to begin with so I thought i'd try that....plus that's what my buddy has haha.

Actually let me rephrase that. I will figure out what nutes to get when I figure out for sure what I'm growing.

Thisis definitely possible, iveseen just under an oz off a single plant in almost identicalgrows. Hope you can lst plants though cause thats youre only option

Really wish I lstd the shit out of my plant before I flowered...

I planned on LST'ing.....< that just looks funny lol. But yeah i planned on doing that. But thanks for the advice and input guys keep it coming lol
