well, you clearly are taking them recreationaly if you took 3 at once. I'm not saying anything about you for doing such. We all do that, hence, why we are on this forum!
But your doctor is right. He shouldn't give you anything stronger because you are young, and don't have the life experience to know what addiction can do to you. I'm not much older than you, but I'll be entering the medical profession in 2 years, dispensing drugs, including narcotics, so I have a bit of experience when it comes to "drug seeking behavior" policies. You probably won't get an addiction from your one prescription, but you could develop a taste for them, and seek out drugs in the future. He is trying to avoid this with you, which is bold of him in my opinion. These days, most doctors will give their patients whatever they ask for if it will save the doctor the aggravation of telling the patient no. If the vicodins truly don't releive your pain, ask for a different kind, perhaps percocet, or even T3 or T4. Codeine sometimes helps when hydro or oxycodon is ineffective.
