Got my new 250 watt setup today !!

Yes sir ! Got it at about 3 pm so I hooked it straight up leaving me almost 7 hours of light today. The ladies are exactly 22 days into flowering so the stretch should be over. Now they can soak up all this light and grow me some nice fat nuggets. They really smell great, Sleeskunk has almost a pine smell to it, Fruit Spirit smells... well fruity, and the Special Kush smells kind of skunky. I am so damn excited cause where I live there is NO hi's here. The grow is turning out way better than I expected, I'm just curious what the yield will be. Really considering taking a few fan leaves out, I've been pinching off the very bottom branches. I hear taking fan leaves is a No No and also I hear some people doing it to all their plants so i'm curious to see what thoughts anyone has on this matter. Also does anyone have any recommendations on nute strength, I am wondering if i'm not feeding these girls enough. I feed about every ten days water every five, between the three they get about a gallon and a half to two gallons per watering and the nute mix is 2 tablespoons each of Fox Farm trio Big Bloom, Grow Big, and Tiger Bloom. Last week I threw in a pinch of water soluble Blooming food @ 9-59-8, haven't had any problem with nute burn at all. I want to give them more but I don't wanna burn them.

Got it from Ebay. It's a 250 watt w/ digital ballast. I got the yo-yo hangers, timer, light reflector, and both HPS and MH bulbs for 120 bucks. Set the whole thing up in about 15 minutes, and the ballast doesn't get hot like my old setup. I am thoroughly pleased with it so far.

Looks good, I got a light like that but the 400watt with exact same stuff. It worked great, I just upgraded to LED and I started my first grow with LEDs 2 weeks ago. I had a heat issue with mine, my room go up to 90-95 !

Does anyone have any tips concerning fertilizer strength and trimming off a few fan leaves?

Ferts, the bloom your using 9-58-9, stop that. Use this only after wk4 (start of 5)

The mix you're using sound like it is real strong. But if you haven't burnt them it must be okay. So I have to ask what is your growing medium?? I see pots of perlite??

Looking at your tub I don't see any leaves that must be removed. Your foliage isn't that dense.

Grow mix is peat moss, potting soil, and perlite with a top layer 2 inches thick of perlite to keep the roots at the top of the soil line. Yeah I haven't had any problems with burn, I thought because of the low strength of the FF. I recently bought a ph meter and between the three i'm getting a reading of between 6.1 to 6.8 so I think it's going good, will def take advice on the Blooming food.

You are correct about the roots staying at the top of the soil, a few roots will grow up into the perlite, to the point where there is light interaction.
Perlite has good wicking properties, and better water & air retention qualities. This makes it great for thinning a soil mix. But I wouldn't use it as a topping material. The wicking will actually pull moisture out of the soil and it has a much higher evaporation rate than soil. This will not harm the plant but it will need to be watered more frequently.

Ph sounds fine, and if you show no burn you're good to go. Keep the green side up, & best of luck to you on your grow.
