Government finally admits that fluoride is a serious health risk
Published: January 15, 2011
Since its introduction into the water supplies of many countries some 60 years ago, many people have questioned the validity of fluoride’s inclusion in our food and water.
In fact so many people have questioned it – constantly – that scientists have made it their quest to inform the public over the dangers of consuming fluoride. We are now seeing a breakthrough after the government has finally admitted that fluoride is harmful to our bodies and they are preparing to limit the amount put into our drinking supply.
The dangers of fluoride
The problem with fluoride is that is reduces fertility and attacks various organs, especially the thyroid gland which controls the speed at which the body uses energy and also provides us with vital proteins. Attacks on the thyroid can lead to diabetes.
Other known health risks include a decrease in mental speed (lower IQ). In short, fluoride acts as a suppressant which dulls our minds and inhibits our reproduction. There have also been links to increased bone cancer after consumption of fluoride, and it is widely regarded as one of the most poisonous substances ever to be billed as ‘good for us.’
Another major problem with the food supply is that there are pesticides which destroy all threats to crops but now leave the fluoride in place, so when we eat that food we are still ingesting the dangerous chemical.
Of course, the most accepted form of fluoride usage is in toothpaste. Our dentists will tell us repeatedly how important it is to use a highly fluoridated brand of toothpaste (which is also full of sugar) because it helps protect the enamel on our teeth. A little research will show you that your local dentist was in fact trained at a University which is funded by one of the corporations that make and sell toothpaste.
To counter their own claims, the American Dental Association (ADA) is now telling us that we shouldn’t allow children under 6 years of age to use fluoridated toothpaste, and yet they still promote brands aimed specifically at children. These brands are easily identifiable because they are emblazoned with images of Barbie or Spiderman. And then there’s fluoridated bottled water for babies…
So here’s a poser for you. If the packaging on our fluoridated toothpaste warns us not to swallow even the tiniest amount, why are we encouraged to drink water from a tap or bottle, when a glass of that water contains the same amount of fluoride as the amount of paste we put on our toothbrush each morning and night?
How do I avoid fluoride?
There are a few ways to avoid consuming fluoride. Firstly there are filters which can fit onto taps in the home, and they limit (although not always fully remove) the amount we consume through drinking.
Buying organic food (and these days even this takes some homework to ensure the source is ‘clean’
and organic toothpaste will hopefully eliminate the risk of fluoride associated ailments.
The bottom line is this; if the government is finally admitting that fluoride is bad for us, after decades of telling us that it’s beneficial to our health, doesn’t it set alarm bells ringing? It is up to us to make the changes we need so that we can prolong our lives and live healthily and happily, enjoying them as we should while we have the chance.
Do not accept poisoned water or food, demand that your local store stock healthier, organic options which will drive the prices down; go to the local farmer’s market and ask them if their food is GM free, because if it is, you know you’re eating healthily.
