Hey guys and girls just wondering if anyone has had any success grafting plants any multi grafts or grafting onto a stronger rootstock for faster growth?? Also if possible to graft new plant onto a rootstock of a plant (female) that has finished flowering? Cheers guys

WHen you are grafting, you want the two stems to be abotu equal in diameter so the vascular systems can connect somewhat well and grow as one, so grafitng onto a mature plant from a baby might be difficult.

Overall tho, grafting just takes a lot of patience, and saran wrap lol Need to keep the wounds wet or they wont seal together.

yeah I see what your getting at there man done a lot of grafting with other plants just never mj and looking for a short cut faster then cuttings thanks for your advice much appreciated :-)

maybe I shouldn't post on this, considering I've never successfully done it, but I've tried about 5-6 times, and the leaves just immediately go limp, and I've just failed miserably every time, not even close to working. I have succeeded with my roses though, so I do know HOW to do it, just with cannabis it's not easy, in fact I've never heard of anyone succeeding. It'd be beyond cool to have a two-strain plant though. but it's a lot of work for just one harvest, as i'm 99.99% sure cloning would only work for whatever branch's strain you were cloning.
i had the best luck when i covered the entire branch with clear plastic to keep it ultra moist in there, and it kept the leaves from "limping" but only for about 36hrs.
anybody here done this successfully?

I grafted a female scion onto a male rootstock. I was conducting an experiment to see if a grafted cutting would grow bigger that a clone.

The graft started to take, then eventually it got infected. If I were to do it again, I would do a few things differently. Anyways, grafting cannabis is not impossible, it just takes a few tries before you get the technique down.

Yeah iv also had alot of success with hardwood/deciduous grafts roses, fruit trees etc but always found softwood very tricky, I know with softwoods espesh evergreens you need to water via foliage for first few weeks untill graft takes, going to attempt a few different grafting methods on some mj plants I will keep you updated on the status of each graft and which works best

Graft an entire live plant to another live plant. Do not disconnect until the graft has taken. If both plants have living root systems desiccation won't occur as before.

This shit is the shit!

Connecting to plants at a random wound, and actually grafting so that the vascular systems match up are two different stories.

Yes two different stories:
One, with regular grafting techniques that result in failure for most attempting. The second (what I have offered as a new method) can result in a much much higher rate of success.

It's good to think out of the box, particularly for fledgling grafting masters.

What Im saying is that you cant just wound two plants and stick them together. they need to connect the vascular systems. So you have to do it a vertain way. It IS possible with two completel plants, but it is somewhat difficult. Just because the plants heal together doesnt mean they are connected vascularly which is what is important to keep the scion alive

Yeah I'm going to attempt both whip n tounge and wedge grafts on a single branch also wana attempt abes method of grafting whole plant onto a more vigorous rootstock once rootstock and plant to be grafted are relativity young maybe 3-4 weeks old and try a wedge and also whip n tounge graft ill defiantly keep you guys updated to what works best really appreciate all the advice and knowledge
