Gravity, Bushmaster, Cha-Ching. Do i NEED to flush?

I use big bloom as well.

I don't think that's conisdered a flush. I don't know though.

A harsh taste is what i don't want. I also don't want it to be harmful.

Flushing sounds the way to go. But is it necessary and will it hurt the plant causing a less of a product...

There is always mixed opinons on this subject. I flush I like how it burns smoother. Not as harsh I like the leafs to lose the nitrogen. I don't like snap crackle and pop being in my bud mix.

I still however provide some nutes in the form of molasses for the finish. Still have to help microbes eh. Flushing is good to prevent build up of salts. That other wise would cause deficiencies. Just my two cents.

In the end its bout getting shit dialed in.bongsmilie

Its not going to hurt the plant, by the last week of flower your plants have already developed where they need to be before you flush, pulling the nutes from them the last week will not effect the weight or quality of the flower it will only improve the quality, taste, and aroma.

Your right on getting shit dialed in and your right about the molasses or any sugars for that matter , any carbohydrates can be used during flush but may not be necessary. Depends on the strain whether it will gather any additional carbs in the last week or not.

I use FF Big Bloom only at the seedlings amount ..and the Killer Tea at 1/4 strength..just makes me feel that at least the roots get a tickle with there water

Dammit, now i am torn. Why do i gotta like rock hard buds?

I'm going to harvest one of the branches off of one, and dry it out while the others do a mini flush of 4 days or so. (if weather permits it) To test it.

Flushing removes the stuff that is good for the plant.

Flushing removes the bad stuff from the plant so you don't ingest it.

:wall:

That is not a fair comparison. You need to grow two plants identically and not flush one then cure each the same.

I can not beleive we are still debating flushing, when the science behind flushing is just not there.

Flushing Absolutely 100% does improve taste
That is your opinion. There is no science to back your opinion up.
Buds do not store fertilizer PERIOD.

Im not one to smoke my nutes especially gravity or bushmaster.
Of course you aren't, buds do not store fertilizer.

do a side by side cut half your plants down and flush the other half . I guarantee the ones you flushed will smoke great and the ash will be clean grey , and the ones you don't flush will taste like shit and burn black ash
You obviously have not done this. If you had, you would not waste time stressing your plants by flushing.

I mean this is beginners common sense.
Yes, "beginners."
Experienced growers usually understand that flushing stresses your plants and does not improve taste or smell.
Beginners often do a shitty job curing and then try to blame it on not flushing.

If you smoked my unflushed weed you would see white ash and it tastes and smells great.

Unless you are growing 100% truly organic then yes you need to flush no question
I go organic now and used to grow hydro/coco.
flushing in hydro is for people that over feed.
It may be needed if you do not know what you are doing with your feeding.

If you are flushing gallons of water through soil, you really are hurting your plants.

Its not going to hurt the plant,
In hydro/coco, the plant needs nutrients with every watering as hydro medium does not have nutes. If you do not give your plant nutes in hydro, it stresses and hurts the plant, period.
If you over feed like many people, flushing is not a bad idea. If you are feeding properly, then flushing is foolish.
Flushing soil is just crazy.

You are wrong. If you flush you will get a bit less weed and no improvement in flavor and taste.

Buds do not store fertilizer.
Are your tomatoes flushed?

Those are nutrients. Why would you use nutrients while flushing? Flushing soil is crazy.

Like I mentioned before there is mixed views on this subject. So why do my flushed buds have more of a light grey ash and smooth bluish white smoke?? Vs non flushed buds with black looking ash and harsh greyish smoke?? I'm still baffled that you don't flush. What bout the nitrogen??

I've flushed with just molasses or sometimes 1/4 apple juice to 3/4 a gallon of water. Flavor improves dramatically for me.

Roots are for uptake of water and nutrients from the soil. When you "flush", nothing magically washes out of the plant. You might like to think it does but it just does not work this way. If you are having a problem during veg or bloom flushing can remove salt build up from around your roots, then yeah, flush away! Cut down on your feeding during the last week or two if you want but don't overwater and drown and stress your plant at harvest, it's unnecessary. It's a waste of time and effort, you are not removing anything from the plant that has already been taken in through the root system. GL whatever you decide to do.

Personal Experience, FLushing 100% makes a difference in taste and burn. 4 years ago I had to move at about 9 weeks into flower and when got to new place had to chop them down a week later, I probably could've gone another 8-10 days so never got a chance to really flush. I hated the taste of those buds, 4 different strains and all came out really harsh and all I used was Some tea and mostly FF nutes. I'd never chop without a flush, ever again. The funny part was when a couple of friends smoked that shi. they thught it was too potent cause it made them cough their guts out but then I told them what was really happening, they appreciated the honesty but not the smoked nutes.

WOW THIS IS RETARDED. Plants all plants work on osmosis so more salts in the plant cause it to pull water/salts from the soil. If you lower the salt content of the moisture in the soil the plant uses its stored energy(in the leaves), osmosis works both ways so if you have more salt in your soil it draws the water/salts from the plant -nutrient burn- flushing works -YOUR PLANTS HAVE A SALT CONTENT. Any one that is telling you different is out right wrong. also you can have organic salts too high but this is much less common.

The problem with the "medical marijuana" nute industry is that it is pretty much unregulated. Many PGR's have been banned from sale in most instances. And all of the big MJ nute companies have incorporated PGR's into their lineup.
