Just seems like it would be easier to put up a notice on their website warning of long delays, instead of having a bunch of pissed off customers looking for their orders....Or maybe when you send a notice saying it has been shipped, to actually ship it!

warning of long delays,
Quoted directly from the shipping policy.

"Please understand shipping time may be longer during holidays and promotional periods"

I have still, yet to see a question about shipping come up in this thread, that isn't clearly stated, on the website. Everybody has a differeing opinion on what is considered timely. Promotional periods, are basically a constant.

And why send out a letter saying it has been shipped, then 4 days later it still has not been shipped?

Hey, it is what it is! Most of you seem fine with waiting however long it takes from these guys. Yes I said they have have that disclaimer saying it could take longer, but as you said, they ALWAYS have promos going on!

It also says "most orders shipped in 3 business days" I take that to mean if busy it might take 4-5 days, maybe 6...NOT 10+ and counting days.

I actually wrote here defending them last week, but enough is enough already!! Just trying to spare others the long unexpected wait, if they are needing seeds timely!

And I did try and contact them both via email and their website before posting here. Zero response!

I am a business owner too, and I just would never operate like this. Period. Even if there was a death in my family, the show would go on!!!
How many people do you employ? Is that business your main source of employment or a side business? Do you run a business where plumbing problems like @Bad Dawg mentioned the other day would impact your business? If the answers to these questions are different than how BD would answer, your business is completely different than GLG and you need not try to compare.

GLG is a small business. Until just a couple months ago it was literally BD and his wife running the show—as a side gig to their main jobs. He is not Amazon. Just because a shipping label is created doesn’t mean your order is picked, packed, verified, or shipped. You have no idea where your order is in the stack of pick lists and shipping labels that he’s working to process through.

I have no vested interest in defending GLG. I don’t get special treatment or any more freebies than anyone else in their orders. He just doesn’t deserve to get the raw treatment he gets in here from every whiny dude who has 0 patience and thinks GLG is out to screw everyone.

How can I have something in my basket but then moments later it is gone and sold out? Surely once I put something in my basket it is no longer 'on the shelf' for somebody else to take? I've read quite a few other people who this happened to with that sunshine kush.
There’s no such thing as a “cart hold” on GLG...or any seed bank I’ve used. This isn’t Ticketmaster where you get 10-15 minutes on a countdown timer to complete the transaction. Putting it in the cart and checking out ASAP is the only way to guarantee you get what you want. GLG allows combining orders/payments to only pay one shipping fee. Just include a note along with your single payment for all orders.

Thanks for clarifying, I'll have to be quicker next time.

Yes, actually, I am the sole owner /operator of my business, and i have been in this business for over 30 years. Have you?? Yes, I DO run a business where plumbing problems impact my business....Greatly!! I'm in the real estate / rental business, so I have plumbing issues and electrical issues arise constantly. I just had one yesterday, and I took care of it immediately. It was the last thing I wanted to do as it was close to zero Fahrenheit, but my tenants safety depended on it. I have a LOT of people who rely on me every day! And I deal with college kid rentals who wait til 9pm to tell you their sewer is clogged. Trust me, I know all about plumbing problems!!!!

If I can't take care of it myself, I hire some help, because my customers are important to me.

I'm not sure why you guys are so defensive. I KNOW just because a shipping label has been created, it doesn't mean squat. But when a letter comes out days AFTER the label was created from the seller, saying IT HAS BEEN MAILED, then yes, I expect it to be mailed that day or the next! I also use to be an EBay power seller, so I know exactly how it all works. I have been in sales my entire life, and owned many small businesses. I would never dream of treating customers this way....or I would be out of business pretty quick. But I guess not in the seed business!!

Nothing I have said is mean or spiteful. I'm not sure what was "raw treatment" on my part...I have been nothing but honest, patient, and even supportive. I never for a second implied he was out to screw anyone, intentionally, but merely offering some advice to Bad Dawg...Put up a notice on your website that you are behind a few weeks, so others like me who ARE in a hurry to get some fresh beans to go elsewhere ATM.

Yeah. I read some of your other posts. You’re definitely an expert in everything. Good luck in your future growing efforts.

Oh please, I have definitely said here that even after 20 years of growing I still have a lot to learn....and have even stated I am far from an expert, so I'm not sure why you have a bug up your ass! I have tried to help out a few newbies, as others have tried to help me. Isn't that what this site is for?

Don't people deserve to know what to expect when they send out their hard earned dollars? I wish I had read this thread BEFORE I placed my order, and i KNEW I would be attacked by a few for saying anything negative.

Maybe you should add a subtitle to the thread saying"please only post positive experiences with GLG". It would be a LOT smaller of a thread!

This is from their form letter...And then after your order has been processed you will receive another email with your tracking number, confirming your package has been shipped.

So, I agree with you. I got my tracking number on Sat, Feb 8. Still not delivered to USPS. I've ordered from him several times, so I'm aware of how things go. But 8 fucking days after it was supposed to be sent is too long.

I have gotten tracking from USPS for GLG gear the day package actually arrived.
Tracking can be a bit deceiving since a notice is sent when label is printed, before package is in physical possession of USPS.

Never had any order for anything related to my garden or anything else go lost or missing in over 10 years of this sport.

Probably unrelated, but USPS also seems to be running super slow (maybe related to V day?), I keep checking tracking on a package I sent, and it's 3 days beyond the projected delivery date... still not there.

In all fairness here, I AM a supporter of glg, but I'm in the same situation as manfredo, though fretting it a bit less. Got the pre-ship tracking number feb 8. My order status has been updated daily putting the current day as the ship day, so this isn't a USPS issue. The package just hasn't found it's way to the p.o. yet (or the ship date wouldn't be updating day for day).

I get that life can break your leg at exactly the wrong moment. I'm not waiting on these seeds for my next batch. I haven't even sent him a note yet asking when he expects to ship it.

But somewhere in the back of my mind is this nagging feeling that the feds have him over a barrel and are just running his business for him. Yes, silly paranoia..... The best kind.. ;)

They will show up I waited over 10 days before mine actually shipped after receiving tracking info. then on top of that usps sent mine to new Hampshire even though I am 4 hours drive south of them. On top of that this was my very first order of beans ever always grew bag seed.

Last time I received an order from GLG I had a similar thing happen... got an email saying it was ready to ship, kept checking the tracking and it hadn't been rec'd by the post office yet (which in many ways felt better to me). Eventually I got bored of looking and let it go 2 or 3 days, looked back and it was almost to me.

Not saying I don't understand people's frustration. If your order is time sensitive it sounds like other banks might be a better option. Thankfully I'm not in any rush, and my dealings with GLG have been great (so many BOGO deals).
