Green CFL during flower?

I picked up a GREEN spectrum CFL from my local grow shop and I've been using it to tend to my ladies at night during veg.

It makes me nervous thinking about using it during the dark cycle in flower, does anybody have any experience with this?

Can I use the green CFL's to work when the girls are sleeping?
Are they in the right frequency where plants can't see them? It doesn't tell the frequency they run at. They also make them in tubes. Sylvania is the make.

I hope these will work, it would make my life so much easier. I don't have a set schedule with the music. If I could get in there and work when they are sleeping it would make things so much more convenient, ya know?

What about the blue colored ones, not a soft white blue, but an actual dark blue. Would this help with clones? I bought one to throw in the clone chamber, I need a little more heat this time of year and don't want to overwhelm them with light intensity.

Thanks!

hope this helps
Ronin,

I used a green cfl light in my room. Without describing my room more. I did have one plant produce one seed, but besides that. There were multiple violations into the room during the dark period. Fine MNS genetics to take that. I think it was a freak to put out one seed. If it had affected the room that bad. I think it woulod have been more than just one seed tucked away in a bud. I hope this helps you brother.

Can't wait for you to come around, and hear you play. Fill me in when you know, and I hope your well...Ns

Hi Ronin!

I use a green light at night time only in case I got a little something to do in the room!

My advise will be to use a low wattage green light like 25 watts max!

It will give you some light but not enough to work comfortably under the plants!
I always work in SOG so it hard for me to see with the green light at the ground level!

I find this Green Eye LED Flashlight could be a good solution to get some light under the plant to work at the ground level!

Thanks guys.

I will be putting one, or two if one isn't enough to see, 13 watt green CFL in the ceiling fixture. It wouldn't be used when I am training or pruning or things of a delicate nature. They would be used for watering and feeding when I have been too busy to get to them during their day time.

I will give it a go. Hell, we used to paint bulbs green to work at night with back in the day, I am betting these will be just fine. I am willing to be the Guinea Pig.

Ronin,

I have good eyesight. I am unsure of the wattage of the green cfl I have, but 13 sounds right. That is enough for me to see the plants. Water them, and look them over if needed. I was pleased with it. As I had it put in before the grow for the very reasons you mentioned. Be well friend...Ns

Thanks, I guess I could have done that myself haha.

The bulb is like 7 feet away from the plants too so I'm fairly sure it wont cause me any problems. Just wanted to hear from experience is all!

A little bit of an old thread but I've been using green CFLS myself for night time so far so good. Even checked it with my light meter getting as close as i could really didn't pick up much of a light reading. So I'm also supporting the Green CFL working at night
