dont listen to this dude!

you are better off buying packs of cfl's 26w if are low on money...

2700k for flower and 6500k for vegging
Do you even know what he was asking? This has nothing to do with veg or flowering. Highly suggest you understand the context of the question before even typing.

It is the green spectrum of light that you need as the plants cannot recognize that spectrum of light so if you want to see the plants in the dark a green spectrum light will be needed. I have a friend who has used very similar lights in the past and he has had no issues.

party light will not work. you need a light that gives off green light. i us a led pen light in green. not a xmas light with a colored lens. if a light gives off green spectrum what ever gas they us in the bulb is what give off the green light. high presser sodium uses sodium gas. mercury vapor uses mercury. im not sure what they us in green. but iv used a party light and f up all my plants already. leds use a distance in the nano. to make differnt light colors. but xmas light leds us coloored lens to cut cost.

I have to go into my flowering rooms in the dark all the time and I'm sick of using my cell phone as a light. I was gonna post this and see what response I get, Does anyone know if the "neon" ones from home depot will work too?

as per the original post. a little color chemistry. colored materials absorb and reflect light waves (white light), the color you reflect is the color we observe the material to be, all other wavelengths are absorbed. Something green reflects the green wavelength, while abosrbing the others (red, orange, yellow, blue, violet). Blackish? well that absorbs all and reflects none(dont see color), where white reflects all wavelengths and absorbs none=combination of all the wavelengths=original white light.

so then why would it matter hps or mh. when you could just put a colored glass over the light you have and change it. and get rid of switchable ballasts. you are right in what you said but light still gets threw. and you need less then 0.05 lumens to not affect a plant. green lights dont work. unless you get a led that doesnt have a colored lens. if it was that easy to change the color spectum we wouldnt use hps or mh or plasma.

ive used a b&q green 25 watt light bulbs loads of time and it works perfect! but as above said i wouldnt want to stay in there for a couple of hours with it just to be safe, ive only used it 20-30 mins at a time.
