so rumor holds it that green light can be used to see in the grow room during sleeping hours and will not effect the plant. i heard this from a friend and i read a little foot note about it in the growers bible.

well i found some lights they are regular fan lights 25 watts and have a green glass instead of a clear glass....now this is not a painted green lightbulb like the one i saw in the picture in the bible but it still gives off green tented light. will i be okay running these lights a little at night time or no?

only 100% for sure answers please because my friend messed up his nightime with light leaks only a few times and his bud became seeded o_O

Low wattage green lights can be used for short periods during the plants, sleepy-time or whatever it's called; do plants even sleep?

So, it's been a while since my last botany class, but how does light leaks cause the plants to become seeded? If your buddy was leaking light into the room he/she at least should have checked for male plants...

Don't use the green light to check out the plants at night! Just use it to run into the closet and grap a t-shirt or some socks. I also used my cellphone to get in and out quickly.

When you say "running the lights a little at night", what do you mean exactly? You can't do it every night for sustained periods - I'm not endorsing that. You can use it for short times, sometimes.

chlorophyll will absorb every color in the light spectrum besides green. so its like its not there, but just dont use too much of it.

The plants get seeded cause they turn hermie from the light stress on the plants. I use green light in my flowering chamber when I need to do night time hour work, however I dont like to use it much even if everyone says the green light is ok.
