Greetings - New to the Forum - A Question - [PICS]

First off,

I'd like to give a shout out to all the people that make this forum possible.

If it weren't for people like you all on forums like this there is no doubt that the worldwide cultivation community would suffer immensely.

You guys inspired me and I put down the cash for my first grow.

I am growing regular J. Herer from a highly reputable seed bank and here are pictures of the plants 10 days after seed germination.

The Rockwool I am using is partially disintegrated, so I made a gentle compression fit around the cubes to keep things together. There was a lot of light penetration down to the roots which also concerned me.

I try to keep the Rockwool only 50% saturated, but it is extremely hard because it seems to just love retaining water. I'm letting things air out a bit now.

I started feeding the plants a very weak solution via spray bottle shots once every 4-12 hours or as needed with 0.5 +/- 0.05 mL or the attached nutrient soln. in 900 +/- 20 mL of tap water.

So as for the question...

How are these lil' ones looking to you all?

So here's the plan so far.

Grow zone (a.k.a. the area above equipment but below lights) will be

3 ft vertical
6 ft wide
2 ft deep

Right now they are sitting under a 150 watt eqiv. CFL for another 2-4 days.

This weekend they are going under a 600 watt MH @ 24/0 hr until they have successfully been SCROGGED

Once all is said and done, I will have have 3 feet +/- 6 inches for the plants to grow.

I plan to start LST when they are around 1.5 feet tall, and I will continue to bend them until they take up most of the horizontal space.

I will then splice off the apical tip and tie down the what remains of the tip of the plant.

I believe the lower branches will then shoot straight up into my SCROG string mesh.

Once most of the branches are vertically aligned and successfully SCROGGED I will commence flowering.

Once the plant decides it is ready, I will harvest.

I plan to use a homebrew ebb and flow system with NO airstone.

1. Take the black tape off the little Rockwool cubes
2. Place Rockwool cubes into a 4 inch net pot
3. Surround the Rockwool fully with Hydroton pellets
4. Place the filled up net pot straight up on the table
5. Cover the entire table 1 millimeter above the net pot under a black plastic sheet so no light will get through to the flood zone (and by extension, the roots won't ever see light)

I plan to flood 1 to 3 times per day day for 15 minutes at a time.

The black plastic cover will effectively be a moisture barrier, keeping the roots dark and humid most of the time. I will also attempt to place a mylar sheet over top of the black layer under the plant canopy so the flood tray area does not heat up appreciably from UV and IR radiation.

Thoughts? Concerns? Ideas?

Just some stretch..I don't use rockwool so don't know the proper nutes if any when small.

They look descent but a bit stretched, lower your lights if you can, sounds like you have a good chance for your grow, watch you ph ( 5.8 ) and ppm's, that's the two most important thing with hydro. I use GH flora series with good success, it's easy to use and not too expensive.

I have no idea why but one of the seedlings has fallen over and appears to be dying.

As a precaution against mineral build-up I rinsed its Rockwool cube in tap water and then gave it a gentle squeeze to aerate it but 5 hours later it is showing no signs of improvement...

Any ideas of what's going on here?

I'm utterly confused. I have treated all of the plants in the exact same way so far!
