the only issue I was having was not having enough space to train in the small 3x3 tent. so, with that said, I culled the other smaller plant, see picture 2 and 3, to make more room. it was a perfectly good plant but 1. it wasn't trained how I wanted it, it was growing completely vertically, 2. I didn't have enough room to start training it, 3. it started getting in the way of training my main plant. eventhough I have a lot more confidence from grow 1 it was still a tough decision to go with only a single plant for the entire grow because any of my own mistakes could be amplified
other than the week I was mentioning fim'ing I've done no high stress training since then, theres just so many colas from a very small number of fims (less than 10 total). from there all I do is continue to push the branches to grow horizontally.
I will be using this or a very similar training technique going into grow 3, this is the plant that had 1 cola removed from node 1 and 1 cola removed from node 3, then topped, so it would grow out just the 4 colas (1 from node 1, 2 from node 2, 1 from node 3) in opposite directions. for whatever reason this particular plant just happily grew sideways unlike the stunted one I culled trained the same way. this training takes a lot of attention.
