EXCELLENT! I was thinking the same for the lighting, it would turn out great. You are dead on about the rise and separate res. I only had about 6 ft. (height) to work with. I have another idea I am going to unveil...once tested.very nice drgreenfinger..im thinking of makeing two of these, they whould do great in my tent with the 1000watt..the only change i whould make whould be to rise the tubs on a table and have them drain in to a seperate res,i think that whould stop the pump from pluging and whould give more room for the roots..any input on this??...thanks for the info.. MEANGREEN.
VERY soon. extremely excited. When are you starting your aquamist 2nd try?
NICE!A really decent res chiller can be made from a bar fridge and as much non-copper tubing you can coil inside it.. Just drill 2 holes right through the door and caulk them around the tubing.. If I can stress one thing its that frozen 2L bottles etc are a losing battle, you need active cooling..
Well maybe one of those 15L waterjugs can last a day frozen in heated water, I dunno..

Your System is aeroponic not an aquamist , Right ? Do you think this had any effect on your results vs Seemorebuds ?
In the video it almost looks like sprinkler heads instead of mist / micro like spray.
Also in the video he used 24 square feet and 2400 watts 100 watts per SQ FT , is that what you used ?
20 oz.I skimmed through all the posts for the info im looking for i didnt see it or your ending weight, can you post your final weight again.
Thanks
Sorry, I screwed up this response. Both systems are aeroponic (type). Aquamist is the brand name, such as E Z Clone (also a brand name). I think the big differences were experience, nutes, and lighting.DrGreenfinger

I had spoken to a shop owner who pointed out that ebb and flow mimics nature more accurately with its wet/dry cycles. Aeroponics was originally designed for cloning. But, after long consideration, I am going to fuse the two together. I am hoping it will alleviate some of the concerns with this set-up. My sprayers ran 24/7, and the only noise heard was water. Had it in a room at first, and you could hear the water (and fan) in the next room. This design would work well with a smaller pump and less sprayers, keeping the res cooler. As always, any design can be improved upon, when we work together. That’s why we share knowledge, brainstorm together, and progress in this game. Because we are fam at RIU. #1…ya dig?Hey DrGreenFinger
Great thread!! I just flipped through every page! Much respect!!
Im thinking of building a similar set up and i was hoping you could answer a few qustions.
i keep flipping back and forth from an aero like this or a flow table.......
1)I noticed in one of your posts you said you were considering building a flow table now.... could you elaborate a little more.... pros/cons
2) I know this was asked already but i never seen your reply...... how often are you running the sprayers? Whats the feed schedule?
3) How loud are the pump(s)/Sprayers? Can you hear them from outside the room?
Again much respect and thanks for sharing your expirences
i dont claim to be aero king, but i do have a few pointers for you...Sorry, I screwed up this response. Both systems are aeroponic (type). Aquamist is the brand name, such as E Z Clone (also a brand name). I think the big differences were experience, nutes, and lighting.

Yes beware of shitty lipped pots!HOWEVER, you do have some offbrand netpots that come with mediocre lips and if you cut too big of a hole the netpot may fit, but once your plants pack on weight, they are gonna need the support of a lip. In cases like these...it can be remedied by taking 1/8" off your count....e.g. a 3" netpot minus 1/8" = 2-7/8" holesaw
i meant that ebb and flow mimics mother nature more accurately than this (an aeroponic system running 24/7).Also, not saying your shop owner is silly, but cmon...even you yourself can see what mimics mother nature without another's opinion....just by viewing. Based on that i cant see how ebb and flow would be anything close to nature unless you live in the swamps and/or near flooding all the time. Mother Nature is in a group all by herself...lol
I'm with LoudBlunts.. Besides, if you want to mimick nature, why are you growing aeroponically??
I wasn't aware of any opposition to side with.I'm with LoudBlunts.. Besides, if you want to mimick nature, why are you growing aeroponically??
