Grow#2!!!

Greetings all,
Grow number 2 coming down the pipe! Anyone think that I should start worrying put in one seed into damp 50/50 perlite and FFOF almost exactly 72 hours ago, or am just setting myself up for an impatient sophomoric effort ? Any advice or wisdom would be greatly appreciated.onelove.

What would you say would be a "normal" time for a seed to push up through 1/4" of substrate? (Without paper towel method or a personal)
I've looked on the web and through the forums and what I've come across says that it should realistically take between 2-7days, and that beyond that, while possible, is unlikely.

I've had seeds take a lot longer than a few days to sprout.

Try weeks, I had a seed come up so far behind the others I couldn't put it in the same grow.

I've only done straight to dirt with seeds. Few days from now you'll have a sprout. Growing will teach patience.

Like really?that much variation? Is there a "standard" time that I can base off of, so that I can know when/if to replace a failed seed? Does it ever pay to "dig up your seed", if so, when?

You may have just put the seed in too early,get a decent tap root on before adding to the medium,and don't put them too deep,i never put seeds deeper than 5 mm below surface.
but the temps have to be set ok not too hot not too cold,They should be through soon,buy reg seeds and keep a mother had my mother jack herer cheese blues for about 4 year now,its not mothers i keep i just take clones of the plants,before flowering, then i veg them up and re-peat while the others are flowering.I think that seeds,produce less than clones and the plants has long has they are looked after well will keep for has long has you want,a lot of the strains i run are ones we have bred our self,we call them jack herer cheese ext but there are other plants in the mix like the blues,its a blueberry cut my friend did and i added smellie berry to it,it stinks,the only one i aint messed with the gene pool is cheese its the original one that has been about for years long before it was on any seed banks list.i have crossed cheese with blues and back crossed with jack herer,But i would never mess with that cheese original clone i have its part of english cannabis history and it makes top draw oil

If you are looking for a new strain,then i would advice anyone to try grand daddy platinum purp berry cookies now this plant is in my top 3 best strains of all time,

Not like normal purple strains,i find them sour this is sweet has candy,i think its a bit like gir scout cookies but purple...........................

Just don't let it dry out. I have tried all the methods out there and the one that works best for me is straight peat moss. I used to put them too deep like 1/2 inch to and inch and it would sometimes take a week and a half up to 2 week. Some would die too. Now I put them a 1/4 below the dirt and boom 2 days I have sprouts. If it knows your watching it wont sprout so don't look at it till it sprouts. Good Luck.

Thank you all, I ended up unearthing on day 5 to find the shell looking...idk..broken or shattered and a sort of dirty white brown looking thing that I suppose was the "seedling". I carefully put it back and chalked it up as a loss :/ if this is the part of growing in bad at, fuck it I'll just buy a germination station and try to minimize myself in the equation lol

Can anyone enlighten me, are you supposed to put lights if you germ in rapid rooters?

I would drop them in a cup of water. 24hrs to sink. Another 36hrs till it cracks naturally. Then drop in soil, should take 2 to 3 days
