Im going to finish going through your journal after I ask you a few questions. Awesome looking plants by the way. Do you always trim off all your undergrowth? I've alway just left mine. Is there a benefit? Also what are you using the bamboo sticks for? Also what are you growing in. Those clones look super healthy what did you use to root those? Kinda looks like rockwool but im not sure. Thanks and sorry for all the questions in your thread.Just starting week 6. Super smelly and sticky at this point. This plant is turning out to be the first one I have grown that looks like the pictures I drooled over while researching how to do all this

Thanks man! Okay here goes:Im going to finish going through your journal after I ask you a few questions. Awesome looking plants by the way. Do you always trim off all your undergrowth? Thanks for taking time to answer my questions. To be honest with you I feel I waisted my time with side lighting. I used 23w cfls and hung them between the plants. I think if they were the 2700k temp cfls for flower and larger they might have made a difference. I have a journal on another site which ill be transferring over here to so I pop my here and paste the link. Oh btw I ordered some purplewreck seeds today since I liked your grow so much. Gonna try 1 plant outside and one under 300w of LEDs and 150w cfl. Thanks man! Okay here goes:
1) This is only my 4th grow so I am experimenting with all kinds of shit - my last two grows I have trimmed the undergrowth because it just put out pretty worthless buds since the light wouldn't penetrate the canopy to reach them that well. I am thinking of adding some side lighting to see if I can't reach those lower regions. But the trimming has definitely worked. Lollipopping them like that does allow the plant use the available energy to bulk up the larger buds. So I do recommend it, especially if you don't have gnarly lights.
2) The bamboo sticks are there for me to tie branches to so I can get them arranged in a way that gives them fairly equal light; I also go through and take out or trim back any fan leaves that are covering lower bud sites that would otherwise receive good light and develop. The bamboo is cheap, available at any home, garden or hydro store, and super easy to work with. I do want to work in a ScROG system soon, but I need a larger tent first. I do a lot of training on my plants due to the limited height, so these bamboo sticks allow me to keep the height down while making sure light is getting to everything.
3) I have cloned in soil and rockwool. Both worked, but these are in rockwool and are looking great - remember that a lot of their vigor comes from the plant they were cloned from, so make sure you clone from a plant that is strong and healthy. I am building a aero cloning machine which will be better - but I do think the rockwool works great - only tradeoff is that it usually takes about 10 days+ to root, whereas people get roots on aeroponic cloners much faster - usually within a week or so - so that is the way to go if you can swing it, lots of plans online to DIY or you can find one at your local hydro store.
Great questions man! I am learning as I go. I just keep reading, researching and trying everything I can to grow these incredible plants to their fullest potential.
Stay tuned and I would love to hear of you experiences and what you have found works for you.
I have an Arjan's Ultra Haze #1 in there as well which is turning out to be something special - 3 of the 4 clones you see in the pics above are from this plant. I also have a Chemdawg that I have vegged for a while and a C99 waiting to go into flower. Dude, I need a bigger tent soon
Awesome! Can't wait to follow that one. Make sure you get me the link to your grow once you get it on RIU. I am stoked to see it grow outside - bet that will be quite an incredible result. Thanks for the lowdown on your experience with the side lighting. Under a 300w LED + CFL you should get some amazing results. My son (adult) and I quick dried a couple of smaller buds last night just because were were anxious to see how it was. Even little popcorn stuff quick dried on a light bulb was pretty nice. Very pleasant and super happy smoke. Letting it go at least until Sunday and then I might take her - or I might harvest a few buds and let the rest go another week - not sure yet. Just checking her out with the scope every day to see how she progresses trichome-wise. Right now they are about 50/50 clear/cloudy, but I would like to see at least 25% amber before I harvest the whole thing. Thanks for taking time to answer my questions. It is definitely a slightly sweet, fuel smell. The Tangerine Dream and Nothern Light Blue that I harvested last cycle were both super sweet and fruity smelling. This one is different for sure.describe the smells ur smelling
I know. I like getting lucky like that since I ordered exactly 1 seed of this - ha ha. I love the happy high that the early buds have provided....can't wait for this to mature and cure a little. Should be amazing.Duuuuude you got a wicked strain in themat PW hey, she looks stunning and i could only imagine the high top work man!!
