Hello. I'm just starting my second growth.
I'm growing in soli.
Soil: golden label special mix.
Nutrients: I'm using golden label all the way
Light: seddlings cfl 2x75W
Light: Veg 600w mh
Light: Bloom 600w hps
m looking for a good book for beginners. I saw this book: Cannabis: A Beginner's Guide to Growing Marijuana by Danny Danko, long time writer for High Times.

Anyone read this book? I'm also open to other suggestions :)

I have read, (or tried) Ed Rosenthals Marijuana Grower's Handbook, but find it a little too difficult

Happy growing

You don't need a book. All the info is online. GrowWeedEasy is a great site, with a very well structured TOC.

I agree with the above posters. I just started growing in June. Books dont keep up with new tech. Interweb is the way to go for info.

Piece of advice?
I've driven myself crazy researching hundreds of hours. It comes down to a couple things...

Dont burn them with light to close.
If they look thirsty, feed them...

It really is pretty much that easy...

Also, there are some bad apples on this site, but there are A TON of really nice helpful people here with a vast amount of knowledge. They've helped me a lot. So ask away!

***One more thing. I grow in soil too. First grow was straight organic soil. A few days ago I changed my veggies to a 50/50 mix of soil/perlite. I could see a change in the plants almost immediately. They are Very happy.
I would suggest lightening up your soil with something to help drainage/compaction for sure.***

Ok thanks for your advise. So far everybody has been very helpful here:) I sometimes feel just as confused when browsing. The soil I use is from A growshop with A PH 5.8 and perlite.

Do you agree with this?

Nutrition: Golden Label, basic for soil. Nothing fancy like bloomboster and so on.

Temp: Lights on 20-29° 24° optimal
Temp: Lights off 20-15° 18 optimal

Veg: 16/6 humidity 55-60%
Bloom: 12/12 humidity 45-50%

good ventilation and A couple of oscillating fan.

Happy growing

Looks like you've got a great grasp on how it's done.

Everything sounds good to me. PH "might" be a little low?

Keep it simple until something literally "looks bad."

These things are pretty hardy and if something is wrong you will definitely easily see it.

If you cant figure it out, take pictures "Not Under Blurples!:)' [use regular light] and post them here.

9 outta 10 times someone has been through it and can give a helping hand.

Just google any questions you have and put rollitup or grasscity after it and you'll find something 90% of the time

Soil is a buffer and we certainly dont mess with it or ph.

Wind is bad air exchange good.

Thermometers and rh meters (ditch the rh meter you wont need that) should not be placed in the light or indirect light or you read the radiational heat and not the real air temps.

You dont need a book you need the basics which i and a few others have here for you :-)
