i have a 600HPS light if that changes anything first time growing indoors lol
im going to be growing white widow btw.

I dont think 2 PC fans would be enough to cool your room with that 600hps ...... You could go to lowes or walmart etc and pick

up a bathroom exhaust fan and hang it somewhere close to the light fixture or do a DIY cool tube with it and use the pc fans to

bring in cool fresh air...... Good Luck

I use a 600 W HPS and a 425 in line Vortex to cool the room and another 425 in line Vortex to cool the light (there on Rheostats so I can dial one down and the other up).

Even with those puppies staying below 30C and into a nice 24 C has been a real challenge.

BTW it's not only cooling your after but total air exchange too. Your babies need copius amounts of fresh air changed over at least once in 5 minutes (some say more, some say less). I can't see computer fans handling this duty very well.

Maybe investigate and reconsider the PC fans, especially with a 600 Watter!

Hope some of this helps,

kayuman is right. Those pc fans won't cool enough in a cab with a 600...if you use them, plan on the temps being a steady 120F. LOL

Something like THIS is what you need, and an air cooled hood to attach it to(or cool tube). That's the ONLY way you're going to keep the temp under control in a cabinet, unless you're going to get a portable ac.

yeah that wouldnt even be close to enough cooling for it, you can go to walmart and pickup a good regular desk fan for cheap :-P and it'll work great

I beg to differ, those are booster fans meant to cool/heat that room or part of your house that gets the tail-end of the conditioned air, i.e, hot in the summer, cold in the winter. They pull a little air so you can even out the room temps. That was their intended use.

For growing in an enclosed wooden box with 600 watts of juice creating a shit-ton of heat, those booster fans don't cut it...I know this because I bought one too and tried it in my cabinet, which btw, is only a 400 watt ballast.

You can see in the photo(left w/ yellow bungi cord) where I installed a booster fan originally and my temps were in the upper 90s, so a 600 would surely have heat issues using one of these...on the right you see the proper ventilation set up, my temp spikes only reach 84 with that present configuration.

Bottom line, they just don't move enough air for high wattage grows. I did make use of the booster fan: I have it in my clone cabinet which rocks four, 20watt, 12" long floros...so for the lower heat applications, they work great.

Yeah Punk brings up a good point.

I also looked at those smaller inlines and yes a 80 cfm also lives in my clone cabinet , but I really don't think they'll cut cooling a 600 Watter!

Not only that but look at the motor on it, you want that little tiny thing to drive 18 hrs a day for x amount of weeks and than another 12 hrs a day for even more weeks!

I dunno but suffering fried plants jes cause my vent failed 2 weeks into flowering would really suck.

If he coughed up $$ for a 600HPS than he needs to protect his investment and cough some more $$ for solid air equipment.
