So, I came across an old cabinet in my attic today and was thinking of converting it into a dual-chamber grow cabinet. My problem is, i'm not sure what i should use for lighting, filtering, air flow, ect. The top shelving portion will be gutted, and ridded of all shelving units inside.View attachment 2164655
I'm your standard soil grower, and don't plan on switching to any form of hydroponics at the moment. I would like to have the bottom chamber to be used for the vegetative stage, and the top for the flowering stage. Ideally, I would like to have a perpetual SOG (or SCROG). Don't worry, I have other resources to get clones readily, when needed, so no need for a mother chamber in this grow cabinet. I plan to use permaflect mylar, because it's very durable, and honestly the best light refelctive material I've used to date.
Cab Dimensions:
31" (L) x 15" (W) x 66.5" (H)
So now the real questions???
1.) For the top chamber (flowering), what lighting should I use? I was thinking of a 250w HPS light fixture, and do not want to use CFL's nor LEDs.
2.) Once having answered the light question above, what size inline fan should I use or what kind of ventilation would you reccomend to keep minimal temperatures?
3.) Same two questions above applied to the bottom chamber (vegetative).
4.) Lastly, what's the best way to keep it light tight, or any materials that best keep the cabinet light proof? As this will be in a open room w/ other lights possibly being on during the "lights off" period.
Also, I should add that I would like this grow cabinet to be as close to, if not, 100% stealth if possible. Noise is of main concern at this point.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, and will DEF give you a good rep for any helpful replies.
Thanks!
