Grow No. 4

How are you going to train 'em?

I was able to make a couple of screens out of things I found around the house. Each screen is 3' by 2' so I will be using both, two plants under each screen. Here is an image of one of the screens (the better looking one).

Now is it possible to just have the screens hanging above the plants by fishing line?

Good looking screen!
I believe you can suspend it, if the weight of the screen is greater than the upward force of the plant. You should be good.
I have seen a screen suspended by clamps clasping the tent frame, looks nice.
I have 4 plants under 8 square feet.
VEG ON Manish!
I think I'll FIM for my next SCROG.

(10-18-2012) Day 18

· Placed a 4’ by 3’ (two 3’ by 2’) suspended scrog screen about 9” from tops of the pots into room. Still gives me room to get under the screen to work on the plants.

· FIM’d all plants.

· Placed Light about 3' from the top of the screen.

looks good, really tight spaces for the plant to grow through no?..

E.

The holes are 1" by 1" so I hope it will work. Now my question on this is do I weave the branches through the holes or do I keep the braches bent under the screen with zip-ties?

my whole take on the screen idea is to space the branches out enough to spread equal light to all of the plant.. so weave those bad boys through, you'll have to make sure its at the proper height too. I'm still learning too though, so more input would be greatly appreciated by others

E.

Zip Ties aren't necessary
poke the branches through the screen, as they grow longer poke it through the desired, adjacent hole.
1'' x 1'' is small, but it'll do; perhaps even beneficial because less growth is required to train into the next hole :bigjoint:

You're right errb
Direct light upon and evenly spread canopy is the goal.
This Technique messed with me too.

Thanks so much that helps out a lot. The funny thing is that 3 of the 4 plants that I did the FIM on are still growing upward, I'm waitting to see what happens. I can post pic's of what I'm talking about if needed.

Hmm, Enough Light under the screen?

Welcome Manish

This is just an "am" Update of the ladies, I'm sure that I will post some more pics as the day goes on.

(Quick Update)

Changed how the light was hung and how high the light was. I found from reading that I was wasting a lot of light coverage based on the "V" pattern the hood has so I rotated the light allowing to get better coverage and to help with my little fans to blow all heat out of the tent. The light now hangs about 19” from the top of the screen. The weather change is helping with keeping the temps drown and I've taped all vents on the tent to the screen to help with air flow through the room.

What am I supposed to do? I have never grown with a screen and because I’m afraid of messing up my plants I’m ready to take the screen out. The plants are starting to poke through the top of screen and it’s getting crowded under the screen, do I cut off the fan leaves, I really could use some help.

as they come through the top, gently pull them back under, and let them rest underneath the screen, so they are forced to grow horizontally. No need to cut anything.
