well put Dr .. i think these other guys were just trying to be "correct" and "score points"
when in reality those cups will do no harm to his plants, and also his seedlings look perfectly healthy to me, why folk want to be so negative and only focus on the colour or the cups, when he has perfectly healthy seedlings there , no reason to assume he will mess things up at all

we all make mistakes hell one of the most stupid ones i ever made as a noob grower was back up car to intake fans and flooded my room with exhaust gas ) then people trying to score in theory yes not good for root to see light but you ever wonder what these DWC growers do when they pull it out of pail and expose there roots to light for a few mins lol nothing

and good thing about clear cups is once you see roots on the sides you know its time to transplant and being that cup size there ready for a good pot size thats Black )

To be honest, roots getting a bit of light being harmful is just an overplayed grow book myth, i grew a mother plant under cfl with roots totally exposed recently with no issues,
it was nice to see that the cfl was able to grow the plant but not powerful enough to cause algae in the tank, as what would of happened if i had used a HID with no screening protecting the roots

when i take my cuttings from the propagator and place them on the main system i allow them to grow roots out of the main larger rockwool blocks for a week or two before i decide which cuttings are strongest and which to grow and place permently in the system, through this time the roots are totally exposed to light, it has no negative affect , main reason to cover the roots in hydro is to stop algae

Seems to be a few perfectionist anally retentive types on the board.... I am sure you have noticed....

I used to over engineer this myself. When one first hits these forums, and reads all the shit out there, it's hard to know what's what. I finally just said fuck it and relaxed after my 3rd grow. I've been much happier ever since. Funny thing, too. I stopped killing plants at the same time. Hmmm.............coincidence?

lol jack your absolutly right everyone seems to know there stuff on here but a select few actually know how to complete a job without problems i have taken some ideas thrown on riu and kept it in my grow and tons more of stuff i lets say laughed it off
the trick of being a good grower is being able to understand and read plants push it to the limit yet be able to know when to stop
and most importantly Common sense

and if anyone can say this its me reason being as jack will back me on this
my miracle grow thread ??? where so many people have bashed the product and had failures lets just say it works fine

It aint the number 1 selling plant food 'cuz it kills, thats for sure!!

PS. I decimated my first 2 grows listening to all that shit. So much conflicting info, whats a guy to DO?

how are they looking?

looks good!

starting to get pretty root bound. I bet the bottom of the cups is solid white with roots. Looks like you need to lower the lights to me as well. Here is my plant at 12 days b4 I repotted it.

why the plants are looking so weak? because of the stress(lights,pots)?

might have been from the transplant, or overwatered

give them a few days theyll be ok

ya shoulda addd that, either way the plant will recoop from the transplant or soil will start to dry

Maybe all that new light scared em... Giev it a few days to adjust. Also maybe its too hot or you need to water more often with the HPS light?
