grow room plan advice

I'm staring this afternoon on a grow room. The frame will be made out of steel and have a plywood shell. My measurments are 6 ft wide 3ft 7 inch deep and 8 foot tall. My plan will be to split room in half. So I'll have two 3x3.7x8 rooms. Facing grow room on right side, I'll be flowering with a 6 bucket ebb and grow and a 600 hps light. In left room, I'll have 2 25 gal drum for nutes a mother plant and some clones with Cfl lighting. I hope I'm making sense to all of you. How does this sound so far? Your not going to hurt my feeling, because I'm new, and open for suggestions.
I have 2 questions. first is I'll have a carbon scrubber in attic. In flower room I'll use a 425 cmf inline fan and I'm only going to hook duct to one side of hps light. I'm going to cut three 2 inch holes at bottom of divider wall and then three 2 inch holes at bottom of clone room. My thinking is when fan is on it suck through clone room, through divider wall, through hps light, then blow out to attic through carbon scrubber. Will this work?
Second question what is a good cloth to use over the 2 inch holes to block light out and air pass through without much resistance? Thanks for all your help.

I'm fairly new as well and from all my reading I believe you have to have the carbon scrubber in the grow room. Feel free to correct me if i'm wrong please, anyone.
Could you please post some pics keeping us up to date? Thanks

Mate, if you can, make a diagram. Would help a lot. And you should have ur carbon filter in the flowering room.

As for the light sealing the holes. I would say that use PVC angles and paint them black from inside.

Chers and good luck on your grow. :)

Just wondering why it has to be in flowering room? I wouldn't think it would matter, but I'm new at this.

Flowering room because it has the strongest odor, and the filter is designed to filter the air that is sucked from around the white outter filter, not to be blown through.

I disagree it doesn't matter weather you blow thru or suck thru ....same job...I actually use a cool tube with duct attached one end ,thru rkv fan and then blown out of my filter this works perfectly fine ....

Hate to be the one to burst your bubble but thats not gonnna be big enough for 6 gals unless you do literally do no veg time. youll need at least a 5x5 imo. just my .02 cents.

Happy growing

Blowing and sucking are not the direct reasons that air passes through the filter but rather the pressure difference created from blowing and sucking. The filter does not know the difference between blowing and sucking just the differences in pressure on either side of it that drives the air through it. Arguing that it is designed to get sucked through or instead of blown through or vice versa is just plain wrong.

Aside from the manufacturers assembly instructions, the reason to put the carbon filter as close to the flowering room as possible is so that there is not any strong odor traveling through any portion of the exhaust duct that could escape through fittings or other parts of the duct that are not 100% air tight thus controlling the smell better.
