grow room setup help

due to some limitations im going to grow in my closet so its going to be a fairly small set up... i juss want to figure out how to make the most of it ...


im gonna get a 400 watt light setup from HTG that has both the mh/ hps bulbs its pretty much all the light i think ill need for the closet...

im gonna have a 6 plant drip system that im buying off ebay .. comes with everything and im a begginner so i think thats the best bet for my 1st time around , i know they are alot more pricey than making your own but its only 50 bucks..

so i have the 6 plant system in my closet , veggin on the 400 watt mh .... i figure out which are my females and go from there ...

i want to clone so i can keep the strain ( white widow)and just have a continuous grow ... only thing is ill have 1 light that does both veg and flower ... u think thats a bad idea?... i dont think ill have enough space for 2 ....

this is my plan unless i can figure out a betrter way from someone who im sure knows a shitload more about it ...

i take clone clippings , put them in my home made clone machine , and stick them in a seperate closet ( real tiny ) and put them under a simple florescent light from home depot , wait for my batch in the other closet to flower , then plant the female clones in the system and have 6 females....

would the clones last tho ? they would sit there for a whole 8 weeks while the other plants flower ...

im soooo confuseed on how to do this ... im starting to think the only way for me to do this is to juss let the plants grow under the 400 , then switch them to the hps 400 and juss get what i get off those n not being able to clone ...

im juss trying to think the most efficient way but nothing i read or look at seems to make this clear for me ,....

how the heck should i do it to where i can continuosly flower my clones ...


any ideas?

Using the other closet for veging the clones is a good Idea.
The 400w would be best used for growing known feamales.
Yeah you can use small fluro's for the vegging of the clones.
As long as you keep the bulb close to the plant all is well.
I would personally go with daylight cfl's for clones in seperate closet.

and the clones will last awhile on 24 hr light ?

Ok hereswhat your gonna do.You got 1 switchable 400 watt ballast correct it does mh and hps with a flip of the switch and a bulb change.Thats good saves you time and hassle good job.Now your going to grow the first plants vegging under florescent shop light til they get started in the drip system right . Well after you veg for 2 weeks yoiu can then use the 400 watt mh light on them.At about week 3-4 you ll want to pull 1 clone off each plant. Label the clone and the mom it came from so you know. Use the florescent shop light to root the 6 clones till they are about 3-4 inches about 5-7 days.Now the florscent has been on 24 hour light take the six clones and toss them into a 12/12 light cycle with the florscent light if need be just put a box over these clones for teh 12 hours dark. The clones will show thier sex in about 7 days.The moms are now about 5 weeks old in veg about ready for flowering.You have 6 label clones showing sex now match the clones to the parents and the female clones came from female mom male clones came from male parent. You have now sexed your adult plants early by taking the clones. If clone as is a female then mom A is a female.If clone B is a male then Plant B is a male. You now can get rid of the males early and pull a new batch of 12 clones from the females so next grow you take 1 for a soil grown mom mother plant then take the 6 other strongest and they go into the 6 site machine. You know have an endless cycle. A mom for clones which will be kept alive with the florescent shop light thats all shee needs, you have 6 plants growing and as you get to last 2 weeks of flower you take clones that way the day you harvest you have 6 new female clones rooted and reay to go into the machine.Neverending cycle.Good luck.Use like 1 1/2 inch rockwool cubes for the clones..
