grow tent 2x3x5 cooling and odor

Hey guys so this is my first grow tent grow.
i have another grow in a shower thats still goin on but only with one plant.
im looking to buy this tent from htgsupply its the small one. ill post up a link if anyone wants.and i plan on growing papaya seeds that i ordered about a week ago from nirvana.

basically i wanna know if i could use one of these 25 $ inline fans heres the link for that http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=46447 with a carbon filter from that site and would that work or no?

and could i usse ona gel would that work instead of the filter or over it?

like i said ive grown in the past but im trying to keeo this as stalth as possible because my wife cant find it and she goes around the room im keeping it in alot. its gonna be in the basement in the room next to the washer-dryer.

oh yeah i allmost forgot i have a 400 watter hps-mh so will it be cool enough. i could all ways throw some ice in there.

that fan's no good with a carbon filter. this http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=54286 is the type of fan you need to pull through a carbon filter.

either ona gel or carbon filter, both work well.

i have to say this is the first time i've heard of someone trying to hide a grow from the wife. does your wife know about the shower grow??

it's going to be hott!! I think you'll need a higher cfm at least to cool and make sure there's no smell...actually I just got the tent you're referring to I think... 20"x36"x64" from them ...I've got a 400 hps with a 210cfm vortex inline fan that can circulate the air but does nothing to effectively kill smell through my little DIY carbon filter....I was thinkin the same thing as you, even bought the Bit@# ass fan for 30 bucks, now I use the small fan to pull through the end of my cooltube that goes to the venting (top o the tent) where my small DIY filter is and the fan attaches on top to pull air through the filter....temps are getting toward mid 80's with the filter on...with filter off it stays 75-78...maybe you could just set it up better but I've been lookin for another fan (thinkin about stanely mod when I found this post) so I can cool that ish and kill smell with a filter...I'm lookin' forward to see what we hear...

On another note, I think I like this tent. Only downside is I wish there was another intake vent..(only 1 on bottom, 2 exhausts)

I have that same tent with a 4' T5 HO 4 bulb and its harder to keep under 80 degrees than my 4x4x7 with a 400 HPS. I really think that tent is too small for a 400 watt HID, its almost too small for T5's

you need a 6" fan and filter combo and HTG filters suck get one of these http://www.businesslights.com/carbonaire-inch-carbon-filter-p-1625.html , and one of these
http://www.businesslights.com/valueline-inch-435-cfm-centrifugal-inline-fan-p-2045.html you will not find a better value. The filter has 40# of carbon and weighs 56 lbs

what about one of these??? my tent is basically in a walk in closet so I'd just hang it in there...but it could go in it I suppose too...???

it says the 6x14 size for 130 shipped is good for an 8x8x8 room...somebody said some good stuff about them in the "good ass deal" thread as I'm calling it...

that will not cool your tent and only has 5 lbs of carbon in it. it is only 60 more to get something that will actually work.
