Grow Tent Help

This is my first grow, and I have been doing nothing but research for the past few weeks and I think I have everything picked out. I am just looking for some input!

4x4x6.5 Grow Tent
http://www.accesshydroponic.com/dark-room-48x48x78-inch-hydroponic-grow-tent.html

400 Watt HPS/MH with an 6" cool tube

6" Can Fan + Filter
http://www.accesshydroponic.com/hydroponic-system-6in-vent-exhaust-fan-with-filter.html

I also built a bubbleponics setup like the one at www.stealthhydroponics.com. It will have 6 sites and I built it for less than they wanted so I think I won that part. Kind of awkward explaining what I was doing to the guy at lowes, but he was oddly intrigued lol.

My questions are...

1. Am I on the right track?

2. What, if anything, am I missing?

3. Will the can fan be sufficient?

4. Will the light be sufficient?

I am going bigger on the tent than I would like, but If I am successful in my first grow I am going to build another bubbleponics kit and double up so the room with be utilized eventually.

Any input will be awesome!

IMO, you should get more light, at the very least 600w. Your six inch fan should be more than enough.

Did you already purchase the cool tube? If not, I highly recommend going with a bigger hood like a Magnum XXXL, cool tube's don't spread the light as well. I run 600w hps + cool tube in a 4x4 but planning to upgrade to a hood and eventually add supplemental lighting.

Good luck :leaf:

I can't tell you if those products are of quality but, it looks like it should work. ^^^What he said^^^
That tent doesn't seem to have socks on the vent holes. That might make it harder to make light tight????
Good Luck with your Grow,

I started looking though the internet and this site about 6 months ago. I first came upon Bubbleponics, CFL's and T5HO's............ Then I saw the DWC, then areoponics, and finely decided on Flood and Drain.
I finely went with:
Secret Jardin DR120II ($210) Greners.com
Sunleaves Windtunnel 6" inline fan ($154) Greners
Rope Ratchet light hangers ($9) Bestdamnhydro.com
NextGen 400w/600w Ballast ($185) Bestdamnhydro
XtraSun 6" Air-Cooled reflector (would've got a XXXL reflector but, the Xtrasun was $70) Bestdamnhydro
Water, air pumps, and misc. Bestdamnhydro
Dyna-Gro nutes
Digilux Bulbs monstergardens.com

Cheers,

The quality is a concern on mine too... However I am seeing much of the same across the internet, unless you have some serious coin to drop. If it gets me through this first grow I will be satisfied. As for the tent being light tight I am sure it is something I could solve with duct tape :D

I have decided to just build my own... I was saw a video with the tent size I want and it is HUGE! Way more room than I want to dedicate to this thing. I will probably just build it will PVC and some of this Panda Film. Googled "DIY Grow Tent" and found some nice videos and threads that show some pretty legit looking ones. I am gonna try and keep it around 60-70 dollars. Anything past that and I may as well buy one of those cheaper manufactured grow tents.

I was looking for Panda Film and kept finding 10'x100' rolls for close to 80 bucks. This is way more than I need and its only 22 dollars!
