Grow Tent .... is this good?

I have ordered the Stealth Hydro bubbleponics kit, ordered my seeds, but now I have a little issue. We were going to put the kit and grow in our attic but I am realizing that in the Texas heat it gets SERIOUSLY hot up there. We have no room in our closet so my next plan is to get a grow tent. The one I was looking at is below....

New 4x4 x 6.5 HYDROPONIC GROW TENT HYDRO BOX HUT - eBay (item 360081256753 end time Aug-27-08 21:00:00 PDT)

has anyone used something like this or do you think it is suitable to use with the Stealth Hydro Bubbleponic kit? The kit link is below ....

SH Hydroponics, Inc. > Multi Spectrum Bubbleponics™ Complete Kit

and I got the delux package on lights so it will be ...

a total of five 105 watt light bulbs; two 30K Spirals, two 65K Spirals, and one 50K Tube style bulb.

This will be my first attempt at growing and my girl will be doing most of it while I am in and out of town so I guess the real question I need to know is, will the grow tent be dark enough inside for the 12/12 cycle?

I have that exact same eBay tent. For the price you cant go wrong. My ONLY complaint is the quality of the zippers, and that is only a minor issue, you just have to really pay attention when zipping them back up or they seperate.

It went together pretty easy, taking me (by myself) about 2 hours to get it done, but it would have been alot easier w/ someone helping to actually get the tent on the frame.

Light seepage is minimal both insinde and out unless your gonna have spot lights pointed directly at it, it should be dark enough for 12/12.

I dont see why that kit wouldnt work in the tent, there should be plenty of room, just dont forget to add some sort of ventilation to bring fresh air into your tent!

You have to be carefull, hydrohut had a recall since the white pvc inner lining was emitting a toxic gas which would bleach your plants.. I have a non killer hydro hut.. so they do exist.

These are not the best ones on the market but it will do a great job for you. There is a Jardin Secret Darkroom garden that is a little better but costs more than the one you got. I have the Hydro Hut and it works. Heat is a major issue in there though. You really need to concider what you are going to do about that, especially in your situation.

I had mine in the tent and put my 600watter in there with no air cooling or ventalation, that is how I had it in my closet, and after a couple hours went to check on it, it was like 115 degress and all my plants were dead.

I would really suggest getting an air cooled light. Once I got one of those in my tent it worked like a charm. One of the nicest setups ever. Look into it and you will be very happy. You have the ducts built into the tent to run an air cooled light.

Before I got the A/C I was thinking about somehow ducting and air conditioner into the tent. Not really sure but you will def need one if you are in a hot Texas Attic. Im not too sure exactly what you should do as the air cooled light fixed all my problems and my box isn't ever over 85 degrees. So that would be the major problem to overcome and then it looks like smooth sailing.

After you got that get a co2 controller and automate it all and you will be good to go. I am thinking about these ones Harvest Master - Pro Controller . See its nice to 'dail everything in'

I had a problem with this brand of tent myself. The tent did not fit over the frame. It has sat for a year because of that issue and I plan on just using it as a light stand without the cover in a grow room since I never got it on and don't need to use it now anyway.

Thanks for all the advice. I guess I wouldnt know if it will be one that has the "killer gas" problem until I grow in it right? Maybe I should grow some bag seed and find out before putting good seeds in. Would a regular fan help with the cooling somehow? We are going to put this in the bedroom instead of the attic, my girlfriend took a temp reading yesterday up there and told me it was 115!! Bedroom temp is usually 70 - 75 so that should make it a little easier. Anyone thing just having a fan in the tent would work?

Hydrohut hat a recall for their tents. This is not a Hydrohut and as far as I know there have been no problems with these. I am 1 week into flower in this exact same tent and have 0 problems. If you are running CFLs you should be fine with just an oscillating fan inside the tent. If you are running any type of HID you will NEED an air cooled hood and appropriate fan and ducting.
