grow tent question. help please!

I just received my 4x4x6.8 ft grow tent from ebay. i'm planning on hanging 2 400 watt bulbs (i figure 800 watts with better coverage would be better and cheaper than a 1000 watter emitting tons of heat)

my first quesiton is, is that enough light for a 4x4 area? i'm really only plannig on planting under a 4x3 area so i'm gonna hang the lights in a way that they are exactly above and center of my 4x3 grow area

second question, is a 250 CFM fan strong enough to keep the temp and humidity down? right now i only have one lamp in there and the humidity rose to around 80% in an hour.

yes you have more than enough light, if i remember correctly 1000 watt will cover 9' X 9' area and with two 400 watts you could cover that ammount of space as well. my last grow was in a 4' X 4' X 7' tent and i only used one 400 watt light and two CFLs and got some great results. i was not using a cool tube and had some heat issues. So i left the door open to the tent and blew a fan in there to keep the temps and humidity down. You should get some super dense buds with Two 400's. here is a bud shot from that grow.

that looks like a sick plant! but yeh, that's what i'm doing right now until my exhaust fan comes in the mail (hopefully next week)

btw, how many plants can i safely grow in there without causing too much canopy blocking the light for lower leaves. i'm guessing around 9 should be good?

I have a tent of similar dimensions and I run a single 600w bulb. I have a 435cfm exhaust fan. The fan sits on top of the filter, sucks through the filter then pushes air through my cooled hood and then out the tent and out of the room. Temps stay upper 70's. Make sure you buy a lightweight carbon filter though, if you have a tent like mine, hanging weight will definitely be an issue. Other than that, good luck!

I used a bud box xl for a while, i had 2x 600w lamps running inside it, I had excellent results, imo 2 lights in that space is far better than 1.

well i cant afford a filter + a fan strong enough to pull through the filter and keep the room temp down so i just bought a 250 CFM fan and hopefully it'll do its job of keeping temp and humidity down. i'll worry about the filter later lol

You should worry about the filter now, they stink like hell from a very early age and if you dont have proper odor control, you may as well hang a sign outside your apartment/house saying "Don't mind me, I'm growing dope."

i have a 39 in square and i run two 250w a 20 w flour tube and a few cfl s mixed and i range around 84 to 86 tops
this with cool tube and a sun system two closed light you are gona be over the top with heat

also, will some of the fan's efficiency get lost if i pull it through a filter?

i just put up a 4x4x6.5 tent last night and its the best investment so far that ive made for 125.00 free shippin from Ebay.. but n e ways i only have a 150w HPS in there with 4 26w cfls for right now..
i know its not enough lighting for the area but will have to do untill after Xmas. i am planning on getting a 400w along with what i have now. im pretty sure you can grow at least 6-8 decents sized plants with ur area. cuz thats what im gonna do after this grow is over.
i have three flowering girls in there right now with alot of xtra room to spare. its so nice to have a grow tent that you can actually walk into..

i know eh? try craigslist.com for complete kits instead of hydro/home garden websites (they're way too overpriced - i learned it the hard way) i bought 2 400 watt HPS ballasts + 2 bulbs + 2 reflectors for 110 CA$ lol

but definitely agree on the grow tent. i'm gonna try to find a 3x4 (if they actually exist) or a 4x4 and flower my plants with an ebb and flow system. i was thinking 9 plants should fit comfortably in there. i'll post some pics when i get my system up and running
