Grow Tent Temputures To Hot.

Good evening. I am using a 6x3x3 (6 ft tall, 3 ft wide, 3 ft deep) grow tent. Sun systems 400w hps. I will have 4 plants total in two 5 gal. pots using ccob method. I am worried about the temperatures under the light. With the light 18 in. away from the top of our nonexistent plants we are getting a reading of 85+ degrees. I have two fans blowing in air though some duct which points right at the bulb and also have a small turbo fan blowing from the ground in between the light and over the canopy. Can anyone give me any advice on how to get my temps down. Or, from what I have been reading, my temperatures may be higher due to the ambient heat from the light. I can place my hand very comfortably where my thermometer is and feel no burning or heat, however I am still getting 85+ degrees. Should I place my thermometer in another place to better get an idea of the overall temp. inside my tent?

Thanks.

you need to have a proper exhaust......... Fresh air must enter tent and old c02 depleated air must not only leave the tent but MUST leave the room the tent is in.....So if you dont have an Inline exhaust fan hooked to ducting leading outside or in attic then your grow is flawed from the begining....

Connect exhaust fan to the top of the tent so it pulls air in from the bottom vents and out through the top. I exhast into the same room without issues.

Thanks. Will install exhaust, and I believe my temperature readings were to hot due to the ambient heat from the light itself, considering my hand is comfortable when placed under the light with my current intake and fan setup.

exhausting into the same room your tent is in is a flaw in your grow.....You are now recirculating Co2 depleated air back into your tent......this is not the proper way to have a real exhaust "open loop" set up..... anyone reading this please donot take short cuts like this........ Please extend your exhaust all the way out of the room your tent is in....wether that means exhausting outside or into your attic or even into another room......

But just letting your tent exhaust back into the same room your tent is in is a "noob" move.......

Lol yea, I get it. Hot air out cold air in. I was just worried about the temps under the lights, however I believe I have that figured out. I will be exhausting into the attic. Thanks for the help, Ill be sure to post pics from start to fin.
