That’s what you need to do mate set it up it will sort it out I’m new to all this my self and had problems with temp at start because I did not have in-line fan
It will take up some room but put your can-filter (with the carbon sheets) inside your tent but set it on the floor (elevated on a piece of wood or brick 3-5 in). Now open the vent diagonally across your tent on the TOP of the opposite side...you are creating a direct path to suck out all of the hot air between your light source and your canopy this way, an additional oscillating fan aimed at your mid-canopy and moving will protect your girls. So insteasd of having it at the top put it on the floor
BINGO you must have an extractor (inline) fan to cycle the air inside your tent, otherwise the heat builds up and your girls dont get enough CO2. Get a 6-8 inch fan with speed-control switch and you wont have heat or smell issues....just the low drone of a fan running....always....
well that works for me, so myfan cannister is sitting inside my tent on the floor, and if I open the top port-hole/vent on the opposite top side I can still block all light while pulling fresh air across my canopy, between the light and plants so even if temp is 80 degrees F my girls are cool. But I just figured out you dont have an extraction fan. In general, no matter where you place the cannister part if you start cycling your air your heat issues dissappear. Good luck

Is it passive.. I just open bottom vents.. but in the closet it seems you need fresh air.. when I’m growing in the closet I just open the door for a tad..every so often
exactly! Once you turn that on and start exchanging your inside to outside tent air you’ll notice your room temp will go up but your grow-tent temp will be much cooler. You are all set with that inline fan and filter just start using it, not just for smells my man!
probably fine for cfls but if using an HID or strong LED/Cobbs the closet will combust from heat

You just need to open the 2 vents on the bottom of the tent - 1 on each side and use a piece of your ducting to create a passive intake, like this.
