Grow tent

Just brought a. 5x5grow tent just wondering if I should run 2 250 watt mh or a 1000 watt mh plus I could save half on electricity using 250 watt or won't it cover that mutch growing area

Why not use them all, and just increase wattage as your plants increase in size?
2 x 250w is okay.... 1000w is optimum imo...

Hey West12345.. 5 foot x 5 foot?

In Veg a 400w will cover a 4x4 in flower a 3x3.
In veg a 600w will cover 5x5 in flower a 4x4
A 1000w will cover more in veg although not sure on the exact footprint. But it will cover a 5x5 in flower
To make that much use of any of those wattage lamps you need a good reflector or hood. A cool tube will lower the useable footprint.
If you have a 5ftx5ft tent and you want to fill her up and use the whole space a 1000w for flowering will be needed. You really don't need a 1000w for veg though. I'm sure some may disagree. You also would be better using a 1000w hps bulb to flower instead of a MH.
If you don't want or need to fill your tent then a 600w is the most economical to buy, miles cheaper that a 1000w and you could cover a 4x4 when flowering.
250w ballasts are usually not very economical price wise due to less demand, the opposite is true for 600w ballasts.

Do some reading and researching before you buy..
