Growers can burn off particles to pass lab testing?

I read an article in the Sept issue of Vegas Cannabis Magazine. The article I'm refering to can be viewed here: (((Sorry, no links to outside please; it's in the TOS)))
It's on page 34 titled: The Rucus Rant, Demanding quality, honesty and compassion.
Good article, this is the sentence that caught my attention: There are some growers heating their flowers to get a higher thc count and burning off particles that wouldn't pass lab testing.
I'm not concerned about them over drying for a higher thc reading.
What I'm concerned about is what particles can be burned off to get a sample to pass testing that would otherwise fail?
Powdery Mildew? Pesticides? Bacteria?

I don't think that is true. Just a quick flip through the magazine and reading the rest of that article and honestly it looks like a bunch of hippies promoting their friends and the guy who wrote the article is just a budtender and pot head. He's just repeating hearsay as far as I'm concerned. No sources cited, no knowledge or science, just a one off sentence he can't prove. When you decarb bud in the oven it gets crispy as fuck, noticeably.. To me anyway.

I agree with the no source, no knowledge or science. That was the 1st time I heard that. Before I posted this thread I tried to search google for information on Lab Testing Marijuana in a variety of searches and could not find anything corroborating what he said.

Opps! sorry about the link in the 1st post. It was removed by the adm. I didn't realize outside links can't be added. Google: "Vegas Cannabis magazine" to view their digital September 2016 issue on page 34 if anyone wants to see the article. Sorry Adm- I only added the link for reader reference, it won't happen again.
