Hey everyone, I am considering starting to grow some plants indoors. Space is an issue but i was thinking about taking a standard file cabinet and clearing out the inside to make room for the plants and lights. I was wondering about ur opinions and thoughts on this. Any help is greatly appreciated since i am new to this. Thanks Guys!

I am actually in the process of buying a cabinet right now to put my clones/mothers in. I think it's a great idea. You have to make sure that you have some type of vents though to get fresh air to those plants. Update us if you decide to go through with it. I am getting one that is verticle so I don't have to worry about cutting out each bottom of each drawer for it. Another advantage is that if I ever decide I need to flower any plants in there it will be tall enough at 6 ft. Here is a pic. :joint:

That looks like a good size cabinent for it. The one i curently have is a vertical 4 drawer style, but i was thinking that ventalition would be an issue since its kinda narrow. Do you know how many plants would be good for that size?

Hey Dude,
Sounds a good plan u have although, can't help thinking about the space issue.
My room is only an airing cupboard, say about 2x3x5.there's enough room in it for 5 healthy plants so maybe your f/cab will only have the room for 1 or 2???
But venting is the prob you'll have the most i think. Hole at the bottom for an inlet pipe and one at the top for outlet????

Hey man, I think that it will probable hold like 2, 3 ft plants at most. Your venting idea is a good one, thats seems like the best way for setup. Do you know of any strain that would be a good candidate for being 3ft with the size in consideration.

try AK48. Easy to grow..good yield and a nice grower. Quality smoke too!
or maybe Northern Lights? Both can take a bit of abuse so you don't need to be an expert...cos I sure ain't!!
would deffo try the air venting thing tho.
keep us up to date tho hun...would be good to see the fruits of your labour!

my design will have 2 4" cuts at top of cabinent, so i can mount the fans, 1 to cool lights, and vent cabient and other fan to exhaust stale air, that's my idea if anybody cares.
