growing 4 plants with 125w blue 6400k bulb, do i need more lights ?

Right so im going to grow 4 plants in a shed and i got myself a 125w blue 6400k bulb for growing them.

should i buy a 125w red 2700k bulb aswell and use them both at the same time for growing and then just use the red one for flowering ?

or use them both for growing or flowering ?

or just use blue for growing then red for flowering ?

i would get like 2 or 4 42w bulbs but i cant use them without hangers in England and that will cost a lot.

Can someone help me please :)

You can do grows with under 100 watts of light if you want. You just wont get a ton of bud. You'll be fine with your setup, just figure once you dial the grow in you'll probably get about 0.4g to 0.5g of smokable dried weed per watt of light you use during the grow.

ah alright thanks mate, but should i used both blue 6400k and red 2700k once i switch to 12/12 for flowering ? or do they just need the red one?

you have enough light for vegging but you are going to need more for flowering. i'd get three more fixtures and four 125 watt 2700k bulbs and use all four for flowering.

if you didn't use fem seeds then this will be plenty of light:

minimum light for flowering weed: 3,000 lumens per square foot
cfl's at 66 lumens per watt.
average adult plant is 3 square feet.
1/2 male plants, 1/2 female
(125 watts x 4 x 66 lumens per watt) / (2 plants x 3 square feet/plant) = 5,500 lumens per square foot

ah so if i AM going to be a cheap skate it would be best to just use the 2700k for flowering ?

i am only growing 4 plants in a small space with space blanket all around.

i would throw in a couple of 42w cfl but in the UK i dono how to link them up lol, dont think they work on hangers.

there is no way around needing more light of the right spectrum. if you grew under a single 125 watt light you probably would get just as much bud from one plant as from four plants. it's just too little light too far away from multiple plants to do much good.

think of it this way - every 125 watt light you add will increase your yield by about 60 grams. that's a lot cheaper than buying on the street.

no. i think the increase in yield achieved by using the right light bulb is greater than the cost of buying the right bulb. using one 6400k for vegging and two 2700k for flowering is the most efficient way to go. sctratch this and read warning under my sig:bigjoint:

hey silver, I currently have one small plant flowering under a single 125w cfl and IMO it is not even enough to cover the one plant. My bulb is a 6400k and it is flowering a clone better than my 2700K T5's so they will work for you. If you want to see some pictures check out the link in my signature

desertrat if I could neg rep you I would, your giving bad info man. Using both in veg will not be a waste its actually recommended. Do you even grow with Cfl's? or grow at all for that matter. that being said 1 125w bulb is basically just barely enough to grow one plant. so If you wanted to grow 4 plants to full potential using Cfl you would want 4 125w bulb's that I agree with you on just not the info you gave on spectrum. 2 6400k and 2 2700k would be my recommendation. you would get much better result with one 430w son agro HPS though im sure you know that and have your reasons for not using one. I have mine: heat, amount of space, and cost.

i can use both red and blue on 12/12 when it comes to flowering because it will work out the same as 24/7 single blue.

or i can evan run 2 red 2700k when it comes to flowering on 12/12

i just dont want to use loads of electric on 24/7 as my parents will notice somethings wrong you know.


so would 1 blue 6400k bulb grow 4 plants fine with space blanket all around the area for 24/7?

and then using 2 bulbs either blue and red or 2 reds for flowering on the 12/12 be enough ?

wait what? your parents don't know, how old are you? you know if you get caught they could lose there home. do not grow unless its your place. You are being very disrespectful and fyi if they dont notice the light they WILL notice the smell. dont be dumb man:sad:

im not growing it in the house lol im 19 i got my own metal shed at the bottom of my garden and im going to turn it into a small grow room.

i would never grow in the house

besides doesn't change the fact that they will smell it and more than likely see the lights and they wont be the only ones.

its a small metal shed with no windows and locked sliding doors, and i am putting space blanket in 1 half of it lol.

they will not smell it as its at the end of my very long garden and i am using a carbon filter in my vents
