Growing cannibus next to actual weeds safe?

I know cannibus got the nickname "weed" because it grows similar to weeds but yet is it safe to plant them next to weeds?

I had some plants that were in solo cups which I had to transfer outside in an emergency because my indoor plants were ruined and I didn't wanna waste seedlings. I dug up some soil and put some new soil down and transplanted the plants but there are TONS of weeds in my yard. Is cannibus strong enough to grow with the weeds there or should I get like some weed killer and spray around the plants? I don't wanna end up accidentally killing my plants tho. Thanks.

I have 2 headband plants planted pretty close to each other and I just wanna see how they grow out and I might chop one down if it causes issues. But I took pics so you can see all the weeds and how close they are. I know they will start growing in the new soil pretty soon

i say a BIG NO to any chemical use to kill plants ... pull them up ... scrape em off with a shovel?? cover with a tarp?? any of these work too. cannabis is so special cuz it's cell divide so rapidly it can out compete most all other plants. BUT clearing the area helps ALOT . rizomal plants (ones that spread by roots underground) and bindweed require mor intense cutivation...

Also my dirt is like clay. So when it rains it's almost like you can sink in it and fall through but when it dries it's hard as a brick. Making turning soil and pulling the weeds a chore. P.I.T.A. But the soil I have the headband in is good and airy

yeah no way at all can use use a weed killer even near them.. run off is going to happen and eventually get to your roots and kill your plant... clay soil needs to be amended with peatemoss and its a good idea to throw some perilite in it as well mix it in deep and wide.. or find healthy soil to be in.. you want hearty blackish brownish mix soil that when wet you can squeeze and it will lightly hold for a second but still separates well ....

your roots aren't going to do crap in the clay soil.. we used to have veggie gardens in some spots we never would amend and every planting in that area would be 1/2 to 1/4 the plant size as my other veggie gardens i put time and money into..

and back to the weed killer i had a field behind my house veggie garden and i sprayed weed killer back there to get the really tall weeds in control.. i didn't spray anywhere near my garden i started about 8-10 fee away from the back edge and rain fall after rainfall pulled it up to my garden and a week later it killed the whole back half of my garden. so just hack them down

Yeah I kind of figured that the roots wouldn't penetrate clay soil. Which is ok I guess honestly because I probably used maybe 2 cubic feet of potting soil right there with some added perlite. I don't want a plant that's really large for security reasons so a small plant is fine. I'm really don't plan on putting a lot into this since I didn't plan or wanna do an outdoor grow for multiple reasons. So I don't wanna spend any time or money getting more soil and amending and stuff. I prolly get some of that MG plant food that lasts for 3 months. Put some of that down, leave it and let rain hopefully do its job. Roots can grow sideways when they can't penetrate down right?

yeah but depending on how clay ridden the soil is i have to assume they won't make it.. but they may.. you want your roots to spread down top running roots will die fast on a dry day and your plant won't have strength to it if its so bad the roots can't spread down. ... it would be like a bonsai bud plant

But wouldn't it kind of be be same as we're growing it in a bucket where the roots can't go any further? I just have to make sure to keep it healthy with water and food
