growing female plants

Hey guys,

I have 2 females growing right now about 2 to 3 feet tall, at the top I am starting to see the white hairs but I want them to grow more before they bud...I am using 2 15watt florescent grow lights and one 20watt halogen light on a 18/4 light cycle. If i want it to keep growing should I switch it to 12/12 or will that just produce the buds?

ok man first of all get rid of that halogen and you will need a lot more light than 2 15 watters , i suggest 400 watt hps, if you want them to keep growing keep on a 18/6 schedule/ and when you want your buds go for the 12/12

hmm ok yeah i was thinking the lights werent powerful enough...is there another kind of light i can use that might be more common to buy at a store rather then ordering online?

yah go with the compact flourescents (spiral fourescents) go with the 6500k spectrum(daylights) for vegitative growth and i would suggest an hps for rlowering or you could also go with the warm whites 2700K
