growing for seed

hi, new member, tried growing for seed 2 years ago now with disastrous results!
from 200 seeds only 3 were viable.
does anyone know if the feed regime is any different to when you grow for bud?
plan on having another pop at it. Been growing W W for 3 years and about to run out of seeds.
was given a few hundred W W seeds about 3 and a half years ago, i'm happy with this particular pheno and would like to keep using it.
Any advice on how to pull this off would be most appreciated (my set up is 250w hps in a cool tube with powerplant lumatek electronic ballast, and two 50w ufo led's)

I keep a balanced feed for seeds.

From pollination, I allow 5 weeks for the seeds to fully mature and am not concerned with smoking the bud at all. Everything is directed at the seeds development. Sounds like you had a bunch of immature seeds with that low germination rate.

What Wet said. A few other notes. I personally tend to pick my male more for vigor and not so much structure. My females are chosen by structure and yield. These are just guidelines. Choose a couple of both male and female for your breeding project and keep alot of notes and you parent plants and clones well labelled!
