Growing in a forest

i mean.. you're going to need to provide lots more info...

how much light does it get, for how long each day, what are the temps and climate like, does it get adequate watering, etc...

i would say if its a heavy forest it prolly won't do too well. and if it does grow the quality/yield might be sacrificed.

Remember that broad leaf deciduous trees rob a lot of light so I'm not sure how much sunlight will be penetrating the canopy, FIND AN OPENING, a plant will grow in the shade but expect longer intervals between the internodes (lanky) and bud production will be skimpy but you should get a little something... Try to find just a bit of even diffused sunlight and you can obtain a mediocre harvest, but a lot of guys grow back in the woods with decent results...

How would it grow under a tree in a deciduous forest? any experiences?

Without knowing how thick of a forest you are talking about it is impossible to tell but I once attempted to grow in a small clearing in a forest thinking that there would be enough of a combination filtered/indirect light and direct light for plants to grow and not a seedling out of ten survived a week.

I'm growing out of an opening in my bushes right next to my house so I hope it works, not sure on how much sun it will get but I do not that during the summer the morning sun hits the spot exactly dead on and I'm hoping for some monster that won't be discovered.

Growing in forests is my speciality. My very first grow was in a forest when i was 13 lol, and been doing it ever since. uh first thing, try to find a place far away from pine trees, trees with pine needles, because it makes the soil acidic and marijuana plants have been known not to grow as well. Another thing, in my area we get helicopter fly-bys quite a bit in the fall looking for dope, so we only plant in patches of 3 and 4 plants between other trees, close together. As for sun you need to do some tree climbing lol, cut down all the branches in the way of the garden. hope that helps, peace :bigjoint::leaf:

Hey SM, I grow right next to my row of pines, but in 10 gallon pots, and I grow monsters! it's perfect for fly-bys, for infer-red can't detect a pot plant from a pine. they both give off same heat while trying to detect, unless they fly by close enough to make a visual, which here they would crash. but nevertheless, you're right, to much acid in pines to grow in ground.
