hey guys i am growing in a tent that is 2x2x5 and my question is that if i were to leave the zipper a quarter of the way unzipped would it do my girl any hard. i know if i do this i would have to close it during the dark stage for light leaks.but what i have always thought that i had to grow it in a nice sealed tight place for so that pests doing get in. but i have been seeing people forums and they just have wide open grow rooms. so i could imagine it being okay i just wanted to double check and the reason i am trying to do this is because my temps in the tent are way better with it opened a little. here is my baby 4 weeks into flowering!!!

I leave my tent open a quarter(ish) open for that very same reason. Keep an extra eye out for pests though...
(Oh yeh, nice buds!)

have you had any pests make there way into your tent or no? because if there is a real high chance that i will get pest i will just keep it closed because with my tent closed my temps are a little high but with it a little opened it perfect

Just hang a bug strip right on the inside of your tent where you will be leaving the crack. It will grab any bugs that may come in.

If you have pests in your house, and they want to get into your tent, that zipper won't stop them.

Pests usually hitchike into your garden, I have 2 large dogs that love to run through the woods and I know they bring in mites, spiders, and all sorts of vermin. I take a few precautions to prevent mites from infecting my indoor grow, and it's worked beautifully so far. My first grow got infected with mites, and it's been all about cleaning and prevention ever since.

I guarantee that if you don't have a buffer zone between pets/outdoor chore clothes, you will infect your grow. My closet is in the far corner of my basement, so I keep the concrete floors mopped with bleach every few days, and the dogs are not allowed down there. I time my gardening for right after I shower and put on fresh shorts and a T. I bleach all equipment before bringing it indoors, and I never, ever bring plants outside then back into my growroom.

In your case, I'd be more worried about forgetting to close the tent during flower. (I've done that too) :leaf:

Tents have their place, Apt. / Closet / Attic / Basement / secret grows that are very limited on space or attempting to completely seal the room to utilize their co2. Other than that 99% of the "Tent" users I know ditch the Tent after the 1st grow, they simply do not provide the ability to move plants as needed, you can normally fit extra plants under the light when no tent in involved & finally having a tent or not should raise no issues with pests as long as your pro-active in ridding them from the get-go. I know that tents do go a long way for some people, but when space is not an issue I really do not see the need for them. As the man said above, the tent is not what is stopping the pests.. if they want in.. :O they will get in

Mighty Wash is a great product. It is not a poison, you can use as much as you want on your plants without needing to wash it off. It kills a variety of insects.
