Growing in a Tree

hey! ive been thinking about starting a grow in a tree. now, i understand the work itll take to water it a few times a week, and i think that i am up for it. the tree that i have selected has pretty big branches pretty high up, do you think it would be possible to carve a hole in the tree to make a bucket sized hole, and then fill it with dirt and plant it etc? tell me what you think!

I've heard of people hanging 5 gallon buckets in trees...using a subpump with hose to water. I'd spraypaint everything that isn't green to match the tree's color....good luck

or maybe a better way if u dont like the work would be to plant it next to a tree and train it to circle around the tree, then put red flowers on it , cuz weed dosent have red flowers!!!!

I'm not an environmentalist or anything like that, but it sounds like making a "bucket sized hole" in a tree will end up hurting it. Sounds like a pretty big tree you're talking about here, and it would suck if this tree died. I like the hanging bucket idea. Keeps the tree living and you might end up being able to use this spot for a lifetime!

I was thinking of a simillar thing last week.
I was thinking of buying those hanging baskets that you hang off the patio they are usally attacked to a small chain and have a coco base.
You would have to climb the tree tho and hang them pretty high up and plant everything , but im not sure how thigns would work out if you cant get water to the plant.

You'd be suprised how well planter bags fit in the elbows of trees.
