Growing in forest?

Would it be possible to plant some seeds in a forest?
The temperature would vary from 50F to 80F.
What seeds would grow best under these conditions?
The seeds could be planted in the ground in the forest or in a bucket with soil.
I would plan on planting and coming back in a month or so.
Would this work? thanks

Well
it wuld be better if u Germinated them in Paper Towel let them grow indoors for a few weeks till they got established then move then to your grow plot
and as far as just planting them and letting them grow
you need to water them, and look after them,
You shuld go to your Grow plot like 2 - 3 days every week

I think your gonna need find a way to get some direct sunlight to the plants.. If you just plant them on a forest floor they wont get enough light.. soo id say your gonna need to take some of the smaller trees down.. Can someone verify this soo I dont look like a jackass! Good Luck With Your Grow Man

well theres actually a small valley that gets good sunlight and has a small stream running through it, it might work?

yup thats right. I went out yesterday and chopped down a few small trees to clear a little clearing for the light. Besides, if you cut down a clearing, nobody knows it is there and it will be surrounded by small sapplings. So don't go into old growth forests, try to go into areas that 10-15 years ago were farm land.

You should let them get about 12 inches tall before planting them in your area, the taller you let them get before taking them to field the better your odds are that they make it past the first month, the first month is critical after that their on auto pilot.

You should also use your own soil & lay out a barrier for weed control,i like to use black garbage bags.

if your growing in a forest find a nice spot with an open canopy or bring in a buck saw your self and cut some limbs off for light

Early Misty is what I'm growing this summer, and it's supposed to be very hardy. There are tons of others though, so look around.
