Growing indoors without the parents finding out

Hey guys, so I know this is kind of a hot topic and everything, and most people who ask about this kinda seem well.... Retarded. They don't provide correct or all the information to get an accurate response or one that would help them out, so with that being said I will be providing my exact situation and all the nuances of my living condition. So Im 18 and I live with my parents. I obviously have my own room but with that being said I'm planning on moving out this summer. The reason I'm looking to grow is mainly because it sounds like an extraordinary amount of fun and I like challenges and obviously alittle extra cash never hurt anyone Im not interested in growing outdoors or waiting to move out of my parents place, replying back to this thread with something along those lines is pointless and doesn't help anyone. This will be my first grow and I'm only wanting to do 1 or 2 plants, purely out of space restrictions and lessening me getting caught by the parents. I know the materials I need but I'm mainly looking for the location. I'm thinking in my 3 foot tall cupboard or in my closet. Any suggestions of where and how I can reduce the smell and honestly how to do the whole thing stealthily would be much appreciated.

If I were you, I would just wait till I'm out of your parents house, what if you get caught? You know your parents might loose their crib rite?
Plus you need a some kind of fans (they make noise) and for the smell you would need some kind of a carbon scrubber, or some ONA gel blocks. If you go with a scrubber you need a good fan which will make a bit of noise. Just wait till summer when you move out and you wont have these complications. Good Luck.

Theres just too many variables to try and grow in a house where someone has access to grow area. Like stated above, all the things you need to grow and control smell will draw attention there selves.

18 my ass. Grow up then grow. It's your parents house not yours and apparently since you want to hide it they would not approve. So either get out on your own or go plant seeds outdoors in the woods and ride your triky over there to check on them. Don't jeopardize your parents home.

Relax brother... You are still young... Plenty time to grow once you have your own place.... Right now you must think... That this is the right time to start growing but is not... #1 priority indoors is security... That means if your parents aren't cool with it... And you live in the same house... Your #1 priority is violated...which means growing is not an option... Just my thought...

When I lived at home I simply ventilated the air through the window, I had a fan that extracted hot air from my 400w HPS, it was unfiltered so anyone who walked past my window could smell that I was growing.

To fix this - I decided to cut a hole in the ceiling, and extract my air through there. That was the best solution for me, but when I moved out I had to patch the hole in the ceiling and hear my parents bitch at me for jeopardizing their safety and security by running the risk of growing in their home. I was just young and I didn't think of the consequences, but it taught me a lot.

The thing is - regardless if you're living with your parents, living in an apartment, a dorm or your own house...you will ALWAYS have to worry about the smell. There are countless ways of handling smell from odor eliminating ionizers, air freshners, carbon scrubbers or different ventilation setups - out the window or into the attic that you can choose form. I would just research the best option for you..it might be an air freshner, it might be a bucket sitting out in the open filled with bleach water, or lysol. Research the different options, and don't be afraid to experiment.

Yea I was considering doing it through my window. I have a small dresser ( about 20 inches tall, 15 in. wide and 19ish in. deep ) and with that being said, Im only gonna do one small plant. To control the smell i was basically just gonna have some ozium and some gel blocks to help and then if that didnt work i will but a homemade carbon filter on the outake fan. Any other suggestions would help!!

Yea, I heard homemade carbon scrubbers don't work too well...

And my father used to work for a chemical company - they made industrial strength air sanitizers similar to ozium...but "industrial strength"...they would work for like an hour or two, then you'd have to spray again. You might be better off getting an Automatic Air Freshner it releases a spray every 15- 20 minutes, and it runs on 2 AA batteries.

The Gel's will work ok as long as you keep them out of the heat, and use A LOT of them..they dry up pretty quickly, and they lose their smell after 2 - 3 weeks.

But if you use a combination of the 2, then you should be ok.

Tbh i would wait untill you move out..

For many reasons but mainly due to the smell thats outputted during the grow phase, not to mention the curing stage, But if u really carnt wait then u may want to look into a closet grow/pc grow/stealth grow. but i think your risking way to much and u wont be able to produce a very good product due to having to hide it.

plus things like nutes stink. Personaly i would ask my folks if they minded(mine wouldnt have).. Just move out
