Growing marijuana laws in California

Lets say I have a card and I decide to grow marijuana in my house. My other 4 housemates do not have cards. Could they get in trouble by the law if the cops decides to search our house?

Your grow should have a lock on it and you need to have a copy of your rec on your grow. The cops can't get them in trouble if the roommates do not have access to your grow. Lock your door when you are gone, or lock you grow. (I'm no lawyer.)
But, I have had a cop visit and he didn't give two shits about my grow.

Shit, your gonna need to lock that shit up anyways... you got roommates in there!

You should keep an extra close eye on those roommates around harvest time!!! I would definitely break a few jaws, keep them in line!
