Growing Medium

I wrote of a new medium I found a couple months ago called 420Mixasoil. The responses were not that great on the subject, but since I already bought it I kept on watering and watching. To my suprise the plants are doing very, very well, better than I expected, I am now in week 7 of flower and here are some pics of my babies. At this point I would recommend 420Mixasoil to anyone that wants a good growing medium, seems like the ratios are really dialed in. Happy Growing!!

How did you afford to pay $65 for .75 cubic feet (5 gallons) of soil???

I didn't I bought the kits.

Have you ever made your own super soil? It costs damn near 40 dollars for .75 cu ft not to mention how much extra storage space needed for all the amendments, nutrients and trace elements, not to mention the up front cost to buy all the ingredients.

I built 18 cubic feet of super soil, ended up costing about $7 a cubic foot. Would have been cheaper but winter is hard time to pickup bulk compost/manure. It was about same as ffof around me, but a hole lot better.

This is not me casting shade just saying it doesnt have to cost alot to be high quality.

I own a small compost and soil company friend.

I sold a similar product (although in my opinion I used better amendments) for $15 a cubic foot or $300 for a cubic yard. And I made a healthy profit.

If you need help friend I can give you advice for how to build your own soil for cheaper.

I'm very confused about what the kit products are.

It's $25 for a pack that it says (the website for the company) is to be used for two five gallon containers. And it says on top of the pack you need to buy potting soil (in their recommendation promix or sunshine mix), and worm castings.

So it seems like it's just an overpriced fertilizer blend.

You can buy much more affordable organic fertilizer blends that are full of quality amendments, humates, and mychorriazal fungi that can be used for way more pots of soil after mixing with a simple potting soil.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade friend. Growers literally pay me to teach them how to make their grows more efficient and cost effective and I'm just giving you some free council.

This is a product made by a capitalist company just trying to get some cash, they are overcharging, and taking advantage of an undereducated market.

Unless they are paying you to push their product I would switch to any all purpose organic fertilizer.

I'll message you a handful of recipes that are proven and can be made with easy to source fertilizers in the morning!

That's how I started 45 years ago, Thanks a lot anyway.

I've started making my own super soil and it doesn't cost anywhere near $40 for .75 cubic feet. Plants are growing fabulously in it.

If you are using the same amount of amendments as stated earlier it does cost that much! Of course you can cut corners but whos to say what creates the best flavors and aromas.

We share our thoughts and results on these sites and yet Someone ALWAYS has to argue the point. We are sharing news not entering a political debate!

I spent no more than $300 including peat, perlite, and coco. I've already made about ten 1.5 cubic foot bags of soil and still have more than half the amendments left. That's 10.5 cubic feet of soil. I figure I can make around 25 cubic feet of soil at $12 a cubic foot. It's probably cheaper than I'm estimating.

down-to-earth bio-live, loving this stuff. added greensand organic chicken poo pellets and oyster shell to my base also.

Peruvian seabird guano is also useful with 12-11-2 Npk, Nice ratio!!

There fore the up front cost to bear for more soil than I need, get my point?
