it's not a trick... I am cheap.. plain and simple..

I have reused soil from my 2011 grow.. 2012 grow (composted over winter) I get the cheap soil from lowes (about 4$ per 2 c ft) 2012 used about 4 new bags of soil added amendments.

before I purchase anything.. I try to resolve how I can do what I wanted to w.o paying..

I have smoked stuff grown in Fox farms dirt and other stuff I cant taste the dif..

Just an FYI it wasn't humboldt local alone I guy name Ganja D was with him check the original thread on ICMAG. The other guy knocked it out the park last year. keepem green

OMG ! Yea I would figure you would have a partner in a grow that big. HL did a write up in High Times on how he grows. Pretty impressive.
